Major League Gaming Adds Mortal Kombat (2011)

<a href="">Mortal Kombat (2011)</a> continues to infiltrate the competitive gaming landscape with many competitive tournaments featuring the <b>NetherRealm Studios</b> fighting game. Another competitive gaming league has added <b>Mortal Kombat (2011)</b> to the mix, as <a href="">Major League Gaming</a> has announced that they are <a href="">adding the game to their MLG Columbus event</a>, <b>June 3rd - 5th</b>. While the initial tournament will feature a $1,000 prize pool divided among five players, a future tournament in <b>Raleigh, NC (Aug 26th - 28th)</b> will feature a $7,000 payout for eight players.

Spectators, Pro Circuit competitors and pro players alike are eligible to compete. Full Official Rules will be provided on-site. The tournament will be going on all weekend long in the Mortal Kombat booth; come show everyone what you've got!

-1v1, walkup competition on the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system
-Competitors will play one game, and the winner will stay at the station to play again
The eight players with the longest winning streaks over the course of Friday and Saturday will return on Sunday at 12pm to compete in the Sunday bracket:

-1v1, single elimination bracket
-Players will be seeded based on their winning streaks
-Matchups in the bracket will be Best-of-3, until the Finals, which will be Best-of-5
-An extra match will be played to determine 3rd and 4th Place
-1st Place = $500
-2nd Place = $250
-3rd Place = $150
-4th Place = $100

Awesome, finally, something near NC! If only the timing were better:( Thats awesome for NRS though. :) Hopefully someone will be streaming it.
