Low contrast, high gamma and brightness?

Im play my ps3 on a gateway hd monitor. And for the default settings for mk the graphics look really washed out. I changed the settings in game to Lower contrast. and raised the gamma and brightness. This made the graphics clearer. What settings do you guys use to optimize your visuals? Is it similar to my set up?

Yeah I've been messing with the settings on both the ps3 and 360 versions. I've never seen a game like this where the default settings are off, even in the audio, and I have to adjust everything. The PS3 version is washed out and dull as you said, and the 360 version is too dark, so I had to tweak both to get them just right.

You know what bro? I'm going to try that right now! Thanks for your idea!

yes, there is WAY too much ****ing contrast. when i first started i could barely see fatalities when i performed them.

i really dont see a problem with the default video settings. game looks georgous with perfect dark detail and color. audio is too low by default.

i was just talking to my cousin like 20 minutes ago and he was telling me how much better the game looks now, because when i was doing it i was messing around with the contrast on my tv and not with the game option, I SUGGEST EVERYBODY TO DO THIS THE GAME LOOKS EVEN MORE AMAZING NOW. thnx cousin lol

i like the default audio settings. I adjusted them to where the music is higher and it doesn't feel right, the sound effects dont pack that punch anymore. Music blaring, sounds like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

It all depends on the persons HDTV and how it's been calibrated, I myself increased the the gamma and contrast by 2 bars each because I like strong colors and depth. Different for every persons taste though.
