Latest Street Fighter

i know it's super street fighter 4, but I was more of asking if it is worth buying. Rather arbitrary opening

SSF4:AE for $40 :)

If your a die hard SF fan yea, I don't like the Dial Combo system though and its to technical for me :(

Go for it guy, you might like it 8)

Is Google broken today?

Was the really necessary? He just asked a question...

Super Street fighter December Edition : Christmas Turbo. It is worth buying , just like all their monthly releases.

I have SF4 AE, I don't play with it very often, but it's definitely worth buying if you're fan of SF, there's also a free update you can download called ''Arcade Edition 2012''. It plays nothing like MK, so it might take a while for you to get used to the pace and gameplay.

Super Street Fighter 4 is the latest disc-only version. Arcade Edition can be acquired either as a $15 dlc add-on or $40 (could be cheaper if you look around) for the disc. Arcade Edition 2012 is a free update of Arcade Edition.

As to whether or not it is worth it, it would help if you let us know your experience with SF or fighting games in general. SF2, Alpha/Zero, SF3, and SF4 have their nuances that set them apart in subtle ways.

Yes, actually. People need to do their own research instead of being spoon-fed answers. Maybe he might have gotten a better response had he asked, say, "So, is Super Street Fighter IV worth the buy?", or even just popped into the SSFIV thread we have here on TRMK and looked at what people have to say. So, from his post, I've got to conclude that either Google was broken, or the TRMK forum's search function was kaput.

I cant stand SF and MK fanboys, you both make me sick.

I like FIGHTING GAMES. Not one fighting game. I dont see the non-sensical slating of each game. SRK fanboys are the same.

Personally, SSF IV is a exceptional game, but then all SF games by Capcom are exceptional. You can pickup SSF IV for about 20 dollars/pounds now I expect, and then you can get AE (DLC) for about 15. That's 35 in total. SSF IV AE 2012 will be free.

The game has a HUGE cast. It's roster is nearly as big as MVC3. It's got favourites from World Warrior, Alphas Series and SF III as well as new characters. The game has characters that are easy to pick up (Ryu, Guile, etc...) and then harder characters (Viper, Makoto, Gen, Ibuki). Graphics are very good, everything animates well. I just dont like the Ultra bar, but then most people dont like it.

If you like FIGHTING GAMES, then this is a must have.

Ignore the idiot MK fanboys. Like I said, if you are a fan of fighting games in general, then you really cant go wrong with this.

I don't even like MK anymore

I have MK9, MK:D, MK:DA, MK:A, MK2, MK3, MK1

Tekken 6, 5, 4, 3

DOA 3

SFIV

MvC3, MvC2

I LOVE fighting games but SFIV isn't a good one to me except for the way it looks. I despise the system and the play style.

So eat a dick :proud:

(No offense cuz I wuv you)

I agree with this. All I have is MK9, Tekken 6 and BlazBlue CS2. I wish I could afford more but that is what I have lol. SRK isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. In the general fighting game discussion threads there is only usually 2 or 3 idiots who refute every game not made by capcom. But yeah they do not like MK lol.

You don't like "dial-a-combos" yet you like MK? That doesn't make sense. In SF4, very few characters have strings. In MK9, every character has has around 10 strings. Furthermore, in MK9 you often have to input the combo before the next move comes out. Not much room for hit confirmation, you either have to commit to the combo or drop it.

Every character in MK has dial a combos. For instance, Quan Chi can do 112 trance. If I use a a jp (2) I can go 2, 112, trance. I can do this fast enough, sit back and watch the string unfold.

In SF it's different. Characters can cancel normals into specials. While you can do this in MK, they are not true combos like in SF. I can do a D4 into special, however in this game, you can ALWAYS block the special unless they are juggled in the air first.

Like Flawless said, only Guy, Ibuki, Gen and Dudley off the top of my head have target combos.

I thought Dial a combo was the opposite of what you explained, that's something I hate. The character move list only show specials. <_<

SF's move list is fine as it is. Target combos are listed if a character has any, but most don't have one in the first place. All the basic inputs to get players started are covered. The execution is left to the player's devices, especially combos.
