Okay guy's n girls, so i was having a quick skim through the new ninja's thread and saw some cool idea's, but i get a feeling we have enough ninja's (although i got to admit i wouldnt say no to new ones :P)

basically, i was hoping you lot can share your idea's of new characters here that aren't ninja's (since their is a post for that)

I get a feeling this has probably been done to death, but... cmonnn!! ;)

I've been brewing up my own fighter but i wont be revealing him/her yet, still a few thing's i havent decided on.

so yeah, lets hear them!

P.S - let's keep this thread nice n clean, dont wan't any troll war's, flaming etc etc, if people dont like the idea of this post, then please leave and erase it from your mind, nothing good will come from it!

-also, if it turns out this is all a waste of time and a great many people are angry about this post, then moderators have my permission to destroy this thread (and yup, i keep getting my thread/posts mixed up)

Okay, i have no name for my character yet, but he is going to be human and from earthrealm, also he will be british.

how i would fit my character into to the actual mortal kombat story would be that - 500 year's before, where the great kung lao lost to goro, Mr X's (that's my name for him and his family for now) ancestor was also fighting in the tournament, as the great kung lao had perished, so had this ancestor, when new's of his death had reached his family, their Pride was destroyed, it wasn't that they cared so much for the loss of one of their family, it was that because their family member died, it brought them great shame that they had lost, this family pledged to breed the ultimate fighter to show that their household is not to ever be trifled with.

so we skip to present day now, and we find that Mr X is a selectively bred human (his parent, for generations were hand picked fighters, giving him a natural gene for fighting) who's home is a hidden away gothic like mansion, he is to date the family's greatest fighter, and is now ready to show the world what a real champion is

he would come in after the event's of the current storyline, he witnessed the final fight but was too late to take part, but he will rise against shinnok.

he doesn't exactley belong on either the good or bad side, his goal is totally selfish and he is only motivated to win, this is about all i can reveal about my character so far, still got to decide on alot for him (including his name lol)

as for everyone reading this, their is alot of inspiration to go for, think of it this way, you have the choices of not only earthrealm, but all the other realms to create your character from, then you have so many different goals and ambitions you can add to your character, then you have a story for one, a simple and easy character could be like.. a mutant outland female, who feel's she has to prove something or other.

i was thinkin maybe a character that can make two portals like he would make one ny your feet and one by your head and stomp on your face, or he could dive in one and tackle you from behind. i know other characters can create portals but none of them really use them to their advantge. and his fatality could be that he could make himself fall through two lined up portals really fast then delete the top one and make two right next to each other and come up onto your chin foot first, and your head goes boom. i kinda rambled on there. but i think it would be cool.
 
How about a werewolf esque character with a Mortal Kombat twist? Would seem like a cliche, but this game is full of them *cough* Liu Kang aka Bruce Lee *cough*.

Um, wouldn't mind something (non-canon) along the lines of this...

Fardale, an African American male with a bald head, that wears some full plate armor. Essentially a Paladin, he'd have some mix of Holy/Warrior powers. He'd probably have a sloppy fighting style, or maybe NRS could get fancy and just give him a sword or mace fighting style solely (with kicks, of course.)

A shield makes for a nice block animation. Of course, it kills any amount of realism that was there (if there was any) to have a guy with a sword and shield doing as much damage with them as someone does with their fists, but it's an idea.
 
No ninjas... I dont know im an exclusive ninja user... A werewolf! like the one in Nightwolf's ending.
 
insultion - your idea reminds me of the paladin from D2 :D sounds pretty damned interesting though i gotta say

bigm3at - your idea reminds me of nightwolves ending, but i got to agree, id welcome a more animalistic fighter, to me, i think either your wolf idea works well, or maybe a bear (perhaps some outlandish warrior who has bear like feature's, huge, a bit furry etc)

fox17 - dont get me wrong buddy :P i love the ninja's, but theirs a thread for them, i made this thread so people can create characters that are non ninja's

and grrmac - i got to admit i got kind of confused reading your post, i sort of get it but if you could elaborate on it a bit, that would be welcome :)

The actual character started from a D&D campaign I played. However, the D2 Paladin is a VERY good representation of him.

I think as a primary he could have his full suit, and as a secondary he could have a tunic with a nondescript iron sword and maybe a leather buckler or a leather shield of some sort.

Fighting Style: Boxing, BJJ( Only used in X-ray and Fatalities)
Height: 6’0
Weight: 170
Age: 30
Foes: Kobra
Allies: Earthrealm Warriors

Special Moves: Roundhouse Kick: Jacob does a roundhouse kick to the opponent’s head.

Spinning Back Fist: Jacob does a spinning back fist to the opponent’s head, dropping them.

Flying Knee: Jacob delivers a flying knee to the opponent’s head, knocking it back.

Liver Shot: Jacob lands a spinning back kick to the opponent’s liver, dropping them to their knees.


Fatalities: Headshot: Jacob kicks the opponent’s head off. He then picks up the head, raises one of the opponent’s still standing body’s arms and puts the head in it.

Twister: Jacob tackles the opponent and snaps both arms in separate armbars. He then puts them in the actual twister submission, snapping the neck.


Hara Kiri: Head Pop: Jacob puts his hands to his throat, and squeezes it until his head pops off.


Friendship: Why are you hitting yourself? : Jacob grabs the opponent’s hand and makes them punch themselves a few times, before accidentally knocking them out. He then covers his mouth out of surprise.


Animality: Tiger: Jacob transforms into a tiger and claw swipes the opponent to death. He then rests upon their body.

X-Ray: Unleash the Pain: Jacob kicks the opponent in the head, shattering that side of the skull and dropping them. He then get on top of them and puts them in a leglock, severely breaking the leg. He then elbows them in the face, shattering the front side of the skull and squishing the brain.


Bio: For the past 10 years, Jacob Shan has dominated the MMA world. He has world records for longest reigning champion in the lightweight, welterweight, even middleweight. At the same time. However, accomplishing so much in one sport can lead to boredom. He still loved to fight, but he’s fought everyone possible. However, he hears of a tournament called Mortal Kombat. Thinking it might be a interesting challenge, Shan immediately signs on. How he eagerly awaits the date of the start of the tournament, finally getting a new addition to his routine.



My idea for his costume is fighting shorts, no shirt, bare foot, etc. I suppose his alternate could be ryu-like, with a murdered out(All black) GI

I think I'm going to make one or two characters (including my aforementioned) using a similar template to this. I'll refine it a bit, maybe it'll catch on. Or maybe I'll just be an over achiever haha.

SPECIAL MOVES​

Holy Smite: The Paladin raises his arms and a beam of light shoots down from above, stunning the opponent for a limited amount of time.
Shield Bash: The Paladin rushes at his opponent with his shield outstretched, knocking them to the floor but leaving the Paladin in animation for approximately the same time it takes for a recovery.
Flame of the Just: The Paladin temporarily lights his flame with a bright gold flame that adds damage to any sword attacks (damage boost).
Bolt of the Gods: Fardale steps back while thrusting his sword at the enemy, a large golden bolt of electricity slinging out.

X-RAY​

Paladin's Wrath: Fardale thrusts the pommel of his blade into the nose of the opponent, lifts an armored knee into their chin, and finishes with either a: shield bash to the nose OR a stab to the stomach. (Indecisive)

FATALITIES​

Holy Humility: Fardale cleanly cuts the opponent's head off, and immediately resurrects them when they fall. When they rise, he repeats the cut and lifts both heads in the air, dropping sword and shield to the ground. He grins triumphantly with his trophies.
The Prayer: Fardale chants, and as he chants a golden light surrounds the enemy. The light slowly burns away all but the bone, and finally reduces the bone to ash.

BIOGRAPHY​

Fardale is of an order of people that uphold the law of the prevalent gods. They call upon their holy powers to aid them in combat. Specifically, Fardale has left the order to prove himself and become a full-on Paladin (currently he is technically called a Guardian, though he possesses the powers of a Paladin). He has learned of the tournament known only as Mortal Kombat, and decided to prove he is strong enough to bring justice to Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung before they can merge the realms. Quan Chi has epitomized evil to Fardale, moreso than Shao Kahn or Shang Tsung. Fardale has taken up a personal vendetta with the sorcerer.

(Might edit this when I have more time/patience/energy.)
 
Ah wow, nice idea's people :D im really liking this jacob and fardale, alot actually, they are both pretty unique espically when compared to the other fighter's in mortal kombat ;) keep them comming!

(i might have to steal that template to try and flesh out some of my own characters :D )
