Known Characters Fates.

OK, so I'd like to make a thread for myself and all those who are not sure of the fates of certain MK characters. The reason for this is to help try and figure out which characters could possibly be in MKX. As far as we know MKX will take place 25 years AFTER the events of MK2011. So I'd like someone to make a list of the characters and fill in with a sentence or two describing a characters fate.. for example:

Johnny Cage: Alive
Sub-Zero: Turned cyborg, missing
Scorpion: Alive
Kung Lao: Dead, killed by Shao Kahn

..etc, etc, ..

I think this will be a good way for people to brush up on the fates of the old roster and allow us to speculate who has a chance of honestly coming back and who can't because there dead or to old ect.
 
Sektor - Alive, presumably the Grand Master of the Lin Kuei right after MK9

Cyrax - Alive, presumably member of the Special Forces

Reptile - Alive, hard to guess what he's been doing. Jax is dead, so that might affect Cyrax's mission into Outworld. Which would could screw up Nitara leading Cyrax, and in turn Reptile, to the Dragon Egg Shrine. So who knows if he'll become Onaga or not. (Nerdy af lol)


Baraka - Alive, but without Onaga or Kahn, it's difficult to know where the Tarkatans stand in Outworld.


Sheeva, Goro and Kintaro - Alive, but pretty irrelevant after the events of MK3. So who knows if they'll show up in MKX, even as cameos.


Kano - Alive but as the only human on this list, would be pretty old in MKX's 25 year later storyline.

Im just glad you mentioned Kano. While unfortunately i dont think he will be playable, i do hope is is part of the 25 yr storyline. Maybe putting an end to his & Sonya's rivalry. (May possibly be in Cassie's ending)
 
Kitana, Jade, and Sindel are all "dead" and are trapped in the Netherrealm with Quan Chi (along with some others).

Mileena is still alive though... :???:
 
Just because somebody is alive doesn't mean they're coming back.

Mileena is a given, she got more spotlight than Sub-Zero for MK9.

Skarlet's role in MK9 was that of a cameo. I highly doubt they will do anything with her story wise in future games. She's probably going to be a reoccurring DLC character. If that.
 
Just to narrow it down, pretty much all of Earth's warriors were killed. Most by Sindel. Liu Kang by Raiden, and Kung Lao by Shao Kahn. Am I forgetting any? And Noob (Not one of Earth's warriors, I know.) was tossed in the soulnado. Crossing my fingers that he's not out.

No offense but I hope Cyrax doesn't follow through with his old timeline.

Now here my list of alive and dead characters. And these are only my speculation of them returning in some fashion.

From memory:

Without a doubt: Raiden, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade survived.

Its very possible for Raiden to appear in some form or another. I'd be a little surprised if he didn't.

As for Johnny Cage and Sonya, they definitley have to appear somehow with their daughter confirmed. Whether they're playable or just mentioned or they make a cameo in the story. I'd like to see them just pass the torch to Cassie and have them as cameos. Its next generation.

Other survivors:

Kratos - Alive and confirmed for MKX.... JK
Baraka - Alive but I could see him not making the cut for a few reasons. He's a goon and a new character could fill his spot. but who knows.
Cyrax - Alive, he's got to appear somehow because the Lin Kuei holds some importance to the story I'm sure.
Ermac - Alive and could very easily return being a fan favorite and making his 4th true appearance. (Unless you count UMK3-T)
Kano - Alive as far as we know. Left frozen but we don't know if one of those soldiers pushed him over and shattered him lol. Being one of the original seven I'd hope he'd return with one last fight in his aged bones.
Mileena - Alive, she could easily appear because she seems as popular as Scorpion at this point in the series.
Reptile - Alive, very possible to return in my opinion, being on of the original three 'ninja' and a long time fan favorite.
Scorpion - Alive and confirmed.
Sektor - Alive with the same potential as Cyrax I assume.
Sheeva - Alive but could see not appearing for unpopularity. Possible cameo?
Quan Chi - Alive and without a doubt will appear in some form. I'd be shocked if he didn't make the cut. God, imagine his new look!
Goro and Kintaro - Alive as far as we know. Last seen frozen with Kano. I doubt they'll be as sub bosses and very unlikely as playables but maybe cameos?

Dead but never to stay dead of course:
Motaro - Dead, killed by Raiden. Mostly won't return.
Jade - Dead killed by Sindel. and I could easily see someone take her spot.
Jax - Dead killed by Sindel. and I could see someone taking his spot.
Kabal - Dead, killed by Sindel. my personal favorite but I won't get my hopes up for his return.
Kitana - Dead, killed by her own mother, tough love. she's hugely popular but I could see her not making the cut, saving room for the roster
Kung Lao - Dead, killed by Shao Kahn and have a funny feeling he won't return.
Liu Kang - Dead, Raiden killed him. I honestly don't know what kill happen with this. Raiden wtf?
Nightwolf - Dead, sacrificed himself. very unlikely to return in my opinion.
Noob Saibot (Bi-Han) - Dead? Sucked into soulnado by Cyber Kuai Liang I believe or was it Nightwolf? We don't know for sure and there's a lot of speculation on this. I'm going to assume Noob Saibot to be left out of this one possibly. But not entirely sure what will happen with Bi-Han if he is cleansed. Really unsure here.
Shang Tsung - Dead, sould absorbed by Shao Kahn I assume. I could see this to be his end for the next generation. Atleast for a while.
Sindel - Dead, Killed by Nightwolf's noble sacrifice. I'd say its unlikely for her to return.
Smoke - Dead. Killed bu Sindel. Its possible for him to return. He's had little official appearances and there seems to be a lot of potential for his progression.
Stryker - Dead. Killed by Sindel. Its very safe to say he'll stay dead in MKX.
Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang) - Dead and cyberized. Killed by Sindel. Its confirmed a Sub-Zero is in as we all know just the identity is left up to speculation for now.

You could add Kenshi and Reiko was well as the surviving characters of MK9's storymode. Though they weren't directly featured, they had a match off screen, during the human Sub-Zero chapter I think.

Well considering Kenshi shows up as a dlc character, I wonder if that means Reiko didn't survive the match. :-P
 
Characters that are dead: Scorpion - Dead since before the first game.

So why is everyone so worried about the deaths in MK9? Most of them are seen in the Netherrealm and that place seems easy enough to escape and they are just Quan Chi's playthings to use as he sees fit until then and the ones not there are even more up in the air. No one can be certain of any of their fates.

No mater who your fav is there is always a chance they will make it bake some how so rejoice and keep your fingers crossed.

Here's hoping for Noob but seems like a long shot. One of the Scorpions seems to have a lot of the clone type moves but still hoping.
 
Only the characters who absolutely suck (such as Mokap, Meat, Hsu Hao, and that dirty slut Mileena) should stay dead.

I hope the majority of the of the actual survivors make it. As far as Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Cassie and Kano. I believe somehow there stories will tie in together. I would like to believe Kano killed either Johnny Cage or Sonya Blade and Cassie will want revenge against Kano. Personally think this would be a fitting end to the Kano/Sonya rivalry ending with Cassie getting her revenge.

Reptile has to make it...hopefully with more a a neutral/Anti-hero alignment like Scorpion. Kinda on his own.
