If Injustice had a sequel....

My knock-off list wasn't merely referring to aesthetics.
Palette swap costumes for ninjas and other characters = /= knock-off.
Those are 2 totally different subjects in and of themselves.

- Sheeva was a female Shokan because people wanted to play as Goro, but she didn't have his moves.

- Kitana, Jade and Mileena, aside from being palette swaps, had NOTHING in common as far as gameplay goes.

- Baraka was not female Mileena, nor was Mileena female Baraka.
Baraka was Tarkatan, whereas Mileena was created Mileena as a clone of Kitana, by Shang Tsung's sorcery for Shao Kahn, using Tarkatan physiology.
Regardless, Baraka and Mileena don't play anything alike and have COMPLETELY different move sets.

- Again, aside from the MK1 Reptile and Smoke examples that you used, palette swap =\= knock-off.
You, unfortunately, aren't able to distinguish between the 2 very well.
The ninjas were palette swaps due to memory constraints of the past games.
As you can CLEARLY see in MK9, none of the ninja costumes are the same.
Characters and costumes took up lots of RAM memory, in the past.

- I'll agree with you on Smoke.
Cyrax's net trap was nothing like Sub-Zero's freeze.

- Again, not knock-off since they didn't share move sets.
Palette swap? Yes.
Knock-off? No

- Kitana and Sindel were very different in gameplay.
Again. Similar uniform properties =\=knock-off. Palette swap.

- MK would have had completely different costumes for the ninja characters had the memory limitation not been there.

I could go on, but you're putting palette swaps and knock-off characters in the same category, even though they are 2 completely different subjects.

Using my 3 examples in my previous post:
Frost had Sub-Zero's Ice Slide, Ice Puddle and her ground freeze was an adapted version of Sub-Zero's Ice Puddle move.
Jarek had ALL of Kano's moves in MK4 AND his heart rip fatality.
Shujinko had Scorpion's spear, Sub-Zero's freeze, Kobra's flaming fist, Bo' Rai Cho's flip scissor kick, Raiden's flying thunder god move, Liu Kang's bicycle kicks, Sindel's slide and Ermac's teleport slam.

Anyways, you skipped right over the part where I said:
I want to see the MK series move on from MK9, but NRS also needs to stop the copy-paste bullshit for new characters, that happened in the past, and innovate on the new characters like they did with Kenshi in MK9.

As much as I'd hate to say it, I could see NRS doing MKvsDC 2 in the future, before seeing an Injustice sequel.

Here's my hypothesis as to why:

MKvsDC = To show WB what Midway was capable of.
MK9 = Proper reboot of the Mortal Kombat series, under WB.
Injustice = To show WB that NRS can do a proper DC fighter.
Scorpion as a guest character (if the rumors are true) = To show that MK and DC can work well together in a fighter.

Again, this is just me pulling at straws here, but as far-fetched as it may be, I could see this happening.

People talk shit about Shujinko because they can't understand the story behind him. It's beautiful what Shujinko is and did. He's a young man that goes on a journey he thinks will save the realms. He is going from worthless village boy, to the Elder Gods' champion. To finding out that he was being manipulated. A pawn in an extremely elaborate plot to bring a lone lost ruler to the brink of Godhood. Shujinko had years shaved off of his life going through with what he thought was right. He was unknowingly a martyr for the wrong cause. The death of Raiden was Shujinko's fault. And he sought redemption for bringing about such destruction.

I will literally be heartbroken is NRS pulls an Armageddon and shoves Shujinko into a cameo role instead of protagonist. There is so much, too much potential at hand for them to throw it away and make one of the Original 7 the main hero. The only, and I do mean the only, way that I will except a non Deception based storyline, is if they go through with Shang Tsung's MK9 ending. Only alternative in my eyes.

As for Injustice, I'll be glad to see a sequel. Hopefully zoning wont be as holy shit prominent and we'll get more of the characters that were left out of this game.

The Konquest mode in Deception was great and it was fun.
I just thought that they could have done more with Shujinko's gameplay, rather than direct copy-paste of moves.
Sure, he had the ability to mimic moves, but Shujinko had more potential than Midway gave him at the time.
He's one of the post-MK3 characters that could benefit from the MK9 Kenshi overhaul treatment.

MK10 could easily cover MK4 thru Deception.
It doesn't ONLY have to be Deception.
As much as I thought Shang Tsung's MK9 ending had an interesting twist, I don't care to see evil god Liu Kang.
Evil god Liu Kang would be the equivalent of Zombie Liu Kang in the old timeline.
Considering that Shang Tsung is dead, NRS would have to find a way to retcon it.
It would be nice to see NRS do more with character development in the series, rather than death as the only option.

A sequel to Injustice would be nice, but I still want to see who else they have planned for the second season of DLC.

Best case scenario, Shujinko gets control over the power of Yin and Yang.

Martian Manhunter, Powergirl, Red Hood and Sub Zero

Sounds good. ;)
I like that scenario better.

Martian Manhunter, Powergirl, Red Hood and Sub Zero

bbblp, do you have a link for it?
I'm not saying that it isn't true.
FOR NOW, I'm assuming that's a rumor, but when / if Martian Manhunter is confirmed, then I'll assume the rest of the list to be true.

It felt the same, to me.
Sharing the same moves did feel like the same, back then.
The same can't be said for characters like Cyber Sub and Sub in MK9, though, because MK9 differentiates the different zoning, close quarters and power characters better than the MK:DA thru MK:A era games did.
Back then, Frost felt like an EXACT clone and didn't feel original to me.

Regardless, she is another character who needs the Kenshi treatment in MK10.
Kenshi used to play too much like Ermac, and NOW he doesn't.
The same can be done for Frost, in MK10.
Hell, I REALLY hope that she doesn't have any Ice Slide, Ice Puddle, Ground Freeze or Ice Ball moves in MK10.

I've pointed out in various threads how Frost could be a good viable character with completely different moves from Sub-Zero, and I'm not going to repeat myself again.
As it is, this is going off topic from the thread.

OT: An Injustice sequel would be nice, but I'd rather have a new MK IP coming out instead.

What if it wasn't a fighting game but a full fledged RPG in the role of Shujinko?

No idea what kind of combat system.

I think it'd be cool to explore the MK realms like you would explore worlds in Zelda/MMO.

I have no problem with Shujinko being the lead role in the next MK game (nor do I mind Frost), as long as they have their OWN unique moves.

It wouldn't matter how "unique" it is when it's not a fighting game.

So Shujinko could still "learn everyone's moves" it'd be like batman finding his grapple gun.

or Samus finding each piece of her equipement as she plays out the game.

Maybe Shujinko can learn moves and junction them. Like if you get scorpion to teach you a move. You have to choose between "Hell fire or spear"

Remember I'm talking RPG here.

If they did decide to do Injustice, go to last post on the first page. Just look at the selection of new characters. Don't pay attention to the speculated storyline. Just look my presumed choices of new characters that are gonna be playable in Injustice 2. Give me your personal comment about it.

Injustice sequel will probably happen but will be hold off for awhile since MK might go in development soon. For Injustice sequel would love to see characters such as Poison Ivy, Robin, etc and a lot others.

For villain they could make it unique. No Darkseid or Doomsday as main villain but someone in DC Universe who isn't seen much like Larfleeze.

That being said I rather have a new MK game than a new Injustice game.

This!!!

For Injustice 2, I'd like to see characters such as The Huntress and Black Canary.

For Injustice 2, i'd like to see...
1. A story including:The Reformation of the Justice League. At the end of Injustice, notice how there are NO powerful Godlike characters to protect the world from some other godlike force(such as Brainiac, Darkseid Etc.) The story should focus on rebuilding the world from the Regime's rule, but Batman would be put in a situation he cant handle alone, and would need to call for help. It would be cool to see Superman and the other heroes redeem himself too.

2. No Alternate Universe mumbo jumbo. The main buzz for IGAU for me was the Parallel Dimension crap and the Self vs Alternate Self fights.

3. Tag Team

4. Better Graphics
