How do you feel about the whole roster having a projectile?

Do you think it takes away variety,(There wont be any characters who specialize at close kombat like Makoto and Cammy from street fighter except maybe Jax) or do you think this is better and more even/balanced.

Will this encourage projectile spam and turtling or discourage it because everyone can do the same thing?

Thoughts/opinions?

I personally dont have an opinion on this currently but it will be fun to see how everyone uses their character.

Well IMO, they don't have a choice but to have every character either have a projectile of at least a teleport. This is why it is hard for NRS to make new characters. The characters are prided on special moves more than anything. You can make a guy look as cool as you want, but there are only so many ways you can throw a fireball :?

I feel it's fair, since every character can throw projectiles against each other, instead of being a "hadouken spammer" against characters who don't have fireballs, as seeing in SF games.

This is one of the points that make MK being much better than Street Fighter, when first came in 1992 ....

I think it's a major blow against the individuality of characters to give everyone a projectile and/or teleport. It also makes me question the balance over all.

i wish they could find ways to get around the issue without making everyone have a projectile or being able to teleport but its much better than having an unbalanced game imo

I kind of agree. Balance is a huge issue in any fighting game if not the most important. But what fun is it of there isn't much difference in play style from character to character. I know that is a bit of exaggeration but it's still a concern.

Just because characters share move types doesn't mean their playstyles don't greatly differ. For example, Ryu and Guile.

It's not like I said all characters with projectiles play exactly the same. Its impossible to compare this game to SF. We have no idea how this game will play. Also Ryu and Guide only differ because they have different tools such as special move priorities, normal properties, not to mention all the frame data and such. So far I'm not seeing MK characters with a lot of different tools. I'll have to actually play this to know.

Projectiles are easily countered in MK than in street fighter, you could spam all you want but in MK its always an oppertunity to counter projectiles with the right timing and punish him, spammers wont have a chance

Let's not forget that MK projectiles pass through one another, unlike in SF. As both a MK and SF fan, MK's projectile spam is nothing compared to SF's. I think it's a bit silly to make a big deal about everyone having them. That's like asking how I feel about the whole roster having the ability to kick, punch, block or juggle. It's common place in MK. Projectiles and teleports make combos more interesting, and both can be punished. From what I've seen thus far, this is the most individuality each character has been given in any MK game, in both personality and game play (yes, even with their multiple fighting styles in past games, which I thought was a bit much/pointless). I don't know about you guys, but every time I see a new combo video, I get even more excited. I can't wait to see what the pros come up with.

I just don't see how Jax gets his projectile, and probably a few others wehn I think about them, but meh, balance is more important.
