Fix Nightwolf's shoulder charge! It's ridiculous...

The thing is I can beat all kinds of pros, spammers, etc... But there was this guy yesterday having stats like 250W 15L, so I challenged him. I picked Cyrax, he picked Nightwolf. I had literally no chance of attacking, he would always time his shoulder charge well. I got beat by one move...it's so unfair
If I had my other main, Reptile, I could punish it by his running serpent move. It's one of the very few moves that can counter it.

How come NRS isn't considering toning down his charge? Instead they remove moves I never had problems with(Smoke's bomb)...just fix it please!
 
they didnt remove smokes bomb, they removed the unintended mechanic assosiated with it (otg smoke bombs)

this is what i dont get. we make our way towards balance, but if we ever get close we still get people randomly complaining. you know what punishes nightwolfs charge? block, standing block, followed by full combo.

if hes timing it well that means hes using it well and your not adapting. Just because you lost to it doesnt mean its OP.

hell i dont even play nightwolf, but so far every char ive mained ive been able to handle his charge fine (noob, csz, reptile, kano...thinking about baraka and yes hes fine with charge)

there is a reason they all can handle his charge, and it has nothing to do with htere specials, i listed it earlier, its block>punish.

dont go round trying to get things nerfed that are hardly worth nerfing, its a bad trend.

No sir, I'm no stupid. I'm good at this game, I couldn't do my combo after I blocked it. He would always be faster because he would do d+3 and attach it to the shoulder charge. That way there's no chance you can punish it. it's way too quick.

block>punish always works for me, but not this time...I'm not a noob I know what you're saying lol

EDIT: Same goes for Kano's upperball, there's no way you can combo after block with lets say, Sheeva...

MK isn't always about taking the offensive, dude. And just because you block often doesn't mean you should be able to instantly punish. The only good wakeup cyrax really has is his Saw Blade. But come on, if that's the only move he uses, learn to get around it.
 
you DO know you can just DUCK the shoulder charge (without even blocking) and it wont hit you, right? you can uppercut him every single time by doing it. stop complaining about minor things, people, it's probably just your lack of knowledge and patience
 
ok no point in explaining something here, it was a bad idea creating this topic after all. I only did this, because this was actually my first time terribly losing to a spammer...I could always find a way around. I'll just wait till you guys encounter what I did. Only 15 people were able to beat his shoulder charge lol...ok I shut up now

Thats what i already said Weeks ago, online mode with that massiv lag is funny... just pick stupid Charakters like Nightwolf, Scorion or Smoke etc. and get an enormous advantage because of the Latency. I did like 70%+ winration with just using Nightwolf and ONLY using Shoulder Dash! No other Move in any Match.... its just stupid like shit. But.... most ppl don't even know how to react to it, these are the total Noobs who don't even know this. But still it is stupid to play against this ofc.

saying "im good at this game" doesnt mean much. id consider myself intermediate at best, but my knowledge of the mechanics i could say is advanced (something just doesnt correlate for me well between what i know and my fingers, gotta put in hte muscle memory)

if you were good at this game, youd beat nightwolf spamming charge. nix that, not even good, its not about good, its about thinking, learning, doing.

i didnt think about the crouch option either, that works too, he wont have time to hit his starter you mentioned to keep youf rom retaliating.

this is where framedata is useful, you can figure out if you char has any moves you can use that will hit him before his d+3 hits you. or if you can get a friend to do the charge>d+3 on you and you can experiment yourself to see if you can stop it.

as for kanos upball, thats ENTIRELY different then nightwolfs shoulder charge.

kano ball is actually unbalanced being the main difference. and its being nerfed the moment the patch goes live.

wrong... because of the massive lag you can not uppercut everytime, most of the times NW can block in time or jump away... just because of the ****ing lag. Its a fact. I just did online by myself, it works.
 
the whining is rediculous. If the lag is really bad dont play online, i use a wireless connection on my ps3 and the lag is never as bad as you are describing. the problem is your working off of reaction, that doesnt translate to online because of ping/delay.

people who dont realize this are the ones that get spambeat online.

online is about prediction, not reaction, if your a reaction based player youw ill suffer online unless you go on the offensive and make them react to you instead.

ive played against a nightwolf who did nothing but spam shoulder, he won...the first round, i destroyed him the second 2. granted it was only the one time.

this entire post is rediculous.../sigh, stopping now while i still have the mental fortitude

But it could be because of the lag...it was quite laggy actually

Dude it's all nice that you have your master talk, I would say the same stuff If I had not encountered such situation.
Sorry, but I'm not a complainer. You can search my posts, this is the only time I complained because I have certain limits too.
 
For the time being, learn to adapt. That's what this game is about. Learn to compensate and uppercut faster than usual when you have to, don't frustrate yourself because you don't want to try any harder. Play offline, there's no shame if it irritates you that much.

Im almost certain it isnt but i dont know where to check. lag can make a big difference, i mainly stay out of koth matches because that is where its the worst. just get in there and practice i say, nightwolf shoulder spammer is about as difficult as a smoke teleport spammer.

and online, a good tactic is baiting the charge, since reacting to things at a split second level is nearly impossible online. always make the opponent play your game, or try to at least.

Oh no no, I don't get angry over games. I'm glad that I can actually have and play the game...I just wanted to point out some things.
It's cool, I don't hate that guy for beating me. It just suprised me that somebody could beat me like that lol

salright man, im not the most tactful person ill admit. do you mean certain limits as being able to stand a spammer before you complain about it? or do you mean a more mechanical limitation to beating said spammer like thumbs too slow or something?
(rl friend has this problem, he cant move his thumbs on a controller nearly as fast as me for some reason)

1st one your always in control, always, there is never a time where you are not in control, it sa active choice to rage over a spammer, not a reactive one (same goes for most choices in life really)

2nd one im certain you can find a way around him, even if its by using a even cheaper tactic :P

I think this is less about nightwolfs shouldercharge being cheap, and more about how lag can greatly affect gameplay, and has to be taken into account. you just cant play the same way online that you play offline. partly why i wish i had more friends that played this game : /
 
if you duck and don't block the charge doesn't hit you does it?? might be my old umk3 knowledge talking though..

And that's the thing, I never lost to a Smoke's spammer...I generally handle spammers well, it's all so weird.
 
Nightwolf's normal dash ram is one of the worst wake-up attacks in the game. Your concern should be of the super version because it hits twice, the second being low. Do not crouch block, it doesn't help, you should poke him with a ducking kick and dash, then attempt throwing.
Everytime a nightwolf player blocks a combo string, they take advantage of the opponents nature to pressure even more afterwards, I suggest duck and uppercut or ducking attack to throw after your string is blocked to escape the dash that comes afterwards.

Also, NEVER follow-up with a projectile after you knock him down, he can ram right through it.
