I don't know, how about you, but I felt like watching Live Action "The Last Airbender" all over again.
 
I don't even remember the movie being particularly action-driven.

I think the license would have been better suited for a Deux Ex type of game.

It wasn't. It was more of a philosophical sci-fi thriller. Probably the best philosophical movie I've ever seen. How do you watch this and think "Hurr durr PvP FPS"?

EDIT: to be fair, this is based on Stand Alone Complex which is more action driven than the original movie.

Indeed. But I don't remember Stand Alone Complex having Battlefield or Call of duty type of action. If anything they always did things, the Tom Clancy's: Ghost Recon way and only if something went wrong they went into open battle AND EVEN THEN their battles were complex, calculated gambles with limited resources.

Yet according to this game, Section 9 is some military battalion which blows everything up american style.

This game reminds me of the Counter Strike mod "Neo Tokyo" which was coincidently inspired by Ghost in the Shell.
