GameTrailers sat down with Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Creative Director, Ed Boon, at E3 2008. Boon showed off many of the game's signature features including, Klose Kombat, Freefall Kombat, Test Your Might, Fatalities and Brutalities. Also, Boon reiterates an emphasis on juggle-style freeform combos are being touted in this release aside from "pre-programmed combos of games past. The gameplay mechanics, such as jumping and ducking projectiles, are closely tied to the 2D plane. You can also watch this video in high-definition at GameTrailers.

The graphics in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe are looking amazing. The speed at which the game runs is incredible with the amount of detail in the characters and the backgrounds. Easily, this will be the best looking 3D Mortal Kombat game ever created.

Haha, we're well aware of your...affinity for 2D but I'm still wary of this decision. I hope it works out and as far as I can tell I'm gonna LOVE it. Player-created combos, no more dial-a-combo, no more styles, real fatalities (Including my #1 all time favorite, the TOASTY) all mean I'm gonna love it. Plus online play will help me get better at it than I ever was.
