Best MK release.

Tell what you think was the best MK release day.

I think I was the most excited for MKDA. I came on TRMK everyday looking for updates. I was so excited when I called EB and found out it came out earlier than the release date was. I went out and picked it up and played all night.
MKD was almost the same, but I wasn't that excited cuz we didn't have to wait that long. I reckon MKDA was the best because we hadn't had an MK in awhile.

Has to be MKII or MKI. Both of these games got a lot of news media. And of couse talks of a out right ban on both games. It was THEE game back in the early 1990's. MK1 was a shock thing, while 2 was the grand opening.

MK 2 hands down. I remember rushing out to the arcades to play that, and never wanted to leave once I got there. And then I remember waiting SOOOOOO long to get my hands on the console version, and playing it for literally hours and hours and hours. I had sleep overs with friends so we could have tourneys and we'd play until like 3 am. Sleep about 5 hours and wake up and keep playing. It was so fun. I dont think any other MK has ever had as much hype around it as MK2. (from the fans anyway).

A few actually:

MK2. My older brother told us about it and he was describing a "character that looked like The Undertaker" (which was of course Kung Lao and his "Undertaker hat" with a blade haha)

MK3. My younger brother and I were on March Break that year we left our house in like 3 feet of snow to get it. We also didn't have keys to our house at the time so we had to leave the back door unlocked and hope no one broke in.

Word. My jaw hit the floor the first time I stood in front of MK1. MK2 perfected what MK1 started. MK3, in my opinion, was a step backwards. UMK3 was better, but MK4 saved the series.

How can the game be a step backwards when every single thing about it was a step forward except the fatality animations? Here you throw around the phrase "in my opinion" but you jumped on me in another thread for stating facts that refute your weak opinion. Then you say MK4 SAVED the series which is beyond comprehension, it is actually a lie. "It is my opinion that the sky is orange." That's all well and good, but it's very same thing as saying "MK4 saved the series." It is a fact that it took them 5 years to come out with a new MK game concept after MK4 because the franchise was in such shambles from the ultimate failure that was MK4 and G. They even said they waited that long because of saturation of the old games.

MK4's arcade scene was heavy at first but with arcade already on life support, its time was limited. People (MKII fans) seem to recall that MKII was some huge arcade success even if they aren't old enough to have witnessed it, experienced it, or participated in it, but there is a chance MK4 made more money in arcades than MKII did. I don't know how to really explain that to you because you're going to believe whatever you want to believe.

I'm glad you could somehow figure out that UMK3 was better than MK3 but I can bet it's got something to do with a yellow ninja being selectable, or something to that effect, and not the number of gameplay enhancements that came along with UMK3 over MK3. It's amazing that you say MKII perfected what MK1 started, but MKII wasn't done. It was far from perfect. I was one of those people who when first playing MK3, realized what was missing from MK1 and MKII, and that's enjoyment in actually playing the game vs people. You can do so much more in MK3 and UMK3 than you can in MK1 and MKII, and yet, you can do everything you could in MK1 and MKII as well, you just need a little discipline and not utilize the new, and necessary features.

It's unfortunate to see some new person come along and just try to wreak havoc in some old threads like this, but you're not the first and sadly won't be the last. I've had debates on virtually every MK forum about this very topic, usually 1 or 2 guys, probably the game guys on multiple forums just trying to get people to support them. It never works.

MK2 was the most anticipated release of all times when it was released in the arcades. You had people line up out the door to play MK2
