Am I the only one who lost interest in MK?

It kinda started with MKDA I think.
I played MKD for a week and I haven't played it since. After konquest, I tried to see eveybody's ending but halfway through, I lost interest.
I'm not saying that MK is bad in any way. I just lost interest in the MK world.

I do not understand how a game like Mortal Kombat: Deception's caliber cannot appeal to you at all. :?

It's not only MKD, it is Mortal Kombat, the whole MK world. Just lost interest.

I agree. MK just isn't what it used to be. Seems like I play them for awhile, and then I am bored with it. I was a hardcore fan for the longest time, but it sure seems lackluster nowadays. I don't know if its where I have gotten older, or maybe MK itself has just gotten old.

Kinda like you, I was an hardcore fan since 1992, Don't know how old you are but I'm near the 30s and I like more mature themes (Not talking about mature because of the blood and gore.)
For me, MK is not what it used to be. You might found it weird but to me, the most violent one was MK1 because it looked real in some ways.

they should re invent the game...i mean what if they made a mortal kombat with say 12-20 fighters and they were ALL new........and then in the next game they could merge the good characters everyone loved from the new game with people they loved from Deception.

I lost intrest when i hit 100 years and San Andreas came out.. ;)

I just loved MK2 and the first movie, I recently got an xbox and bought Deception as a spur of the momment thing. I've got back into the whole MK world now.

I understand where your coming from man (don't understand the San Andreas thing tho Author Message The 7th Number...I might be the only one, but I find GTA very boring after awhile).

It does get boring after a while... but for some reason .. the 2D ones like MK Trilogy etc.. i dont lose interest in .... probably cause the fighting in that is fast paced.. and the characters all look real because of the actor motion capture/digitizing or whatever... I like that.
Deadly Alliiance and deception are good games but the ineterest is lost much faster.. the fighting is slower and you have to play a long long time only to unveil a picture of some nerd called alexander barrentine... sigh... mk just isnt what it used to be .... I think all the fans just want the game to comprise of 50 ninjas wearing different coloured costumes .. lol, look at ermac and how popular he has become.... I actually think mk4 is better than deception .. the new mk's are just slower...

im not losing interest in the mk world but i am losing interest in deception just startin to not seem like mortal kombat to me anymore i hope they change something in their next game i dont like the road they're heading down.
p.s. starting to like deadly alliance better cuz its more mortal kombatty if u kno wut i'z be meenin

Boring same old... but not..

I think the major problem with MK nowadays is the fact that it no longer is an arcade game that people would wait for hours outside in the pouring rain for. It is a stereotypical 3d consol fighting game that is slow, and difficult to pick up; you have to know all the kombos with at least one kombatant to stand a chance. Since Deadly Alliance I have been inviting my friends over to challenge me, the master of kombat to them, at the newest version of MK. Not only is it unfair that I have time to practice some kombos with the newest Scorpion or Sub-Zero, but none of the characters have generic moves that are used by pressing similar buttons.
For example, there no longer are "High Punch", "Low Kick" etc. When you first pick up DA or Deception you have to guess at what your kombatant will do or you could bring up the moves list to try the newest kombos.

I would go on but I think everyone has an idea what I'm talking about.
P.S. MK2 is still the best!

You think DA is more, for the lack of a better term, MK-esque? Really? Even though MKD brought back the uppercut, multiple fatalities, stage fatalities and the palette-swap ninjas that defined the MK series?

I myself still love the game. I think if you play it with your buddies or step away from it for a while then play it again you will enjoy it. Its like anything in life the more time you spend on it the more you get sick of it.

I play Midways classics one day and halo 2 the next then over the weekends I have my buddies come over and play them all. I think its the best way to enjoy these games with out getting bored of them. I also work 12 hours a day a week. So the weekends is the only time I really get to play. Just an idea on how I view things.

I probably will always love MK. The reason MKD has worn on you so bad is probably all the Internet's fault!!! Back in the old days, you could go months without knowing all the fatalities and secrets, but now days, you learn everything within a couple days.

But I agree with most, there are some things that MKDA and MKD are missing.. I liked the old style digitized system and not the plastic mannequins that they have now.. Also, the newer systems seem a little clunkier and slower than they used to. I think that most of all I missed the way the characters jumped in the old system, when you jump now, it seems like you don't go very far.

One last thing I don't like.. New Characters that are rehashes of older characters. If you are going to use someone's move, you might as well have the person do it who originally did it.

However, overall I still love MK.

you bring up a good point maybe ur right i dunno i think some of the new characters made me feel this way though .they just seem gay and boring and, they are characters you wouldnt have thought would ever make it on a mk game , they just dont seem good enough, but then i love what they did with sub and scorps alt. and more but dont feel like thinking bout it. aah and come on, is the uppercut what it used to be, if this was the first mk game no one would take notice to it. but hey i do think you have a point, i dunno its confusing.

and ya know what i thinks part of the problem i had people to play mk:da with , and they were also good so maybe its just that i had more fun with DA than im having playing the damn comp with decept. , but i am getting dsl in my bedroom bucause my bastard ass comcast lan connection which is goddamn sweet isnt compatable , so in my room im getting sbc yahoo dsl shittier but it works i cant wait to play some of u guys ryknow u play mk online?

I've been a fan of the series since the day it first started...

I still am intereasted, but I think they should get another TV series going or something... :?
