Directed my M.Night Shyamalan and starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith, the movie revolves around a father and son who crash lands into earth (evacuated 1000 years ago) after their craft get damaged.

Although Shymalan hasn't been doing well with his movies lately, I feel this movie has some potential and could give him a well required boost.

This looks great, one of the few films I would love to go see in the theater. I love the concept of returning to earth after it has been evacuated, I have thought of this idea many times before myself and will love to see how it is played out.

Shymalan has been producing turd after turd in the last decade, im seriously shocked studios still provide him with millions to direct. sadly his movies dont tank because of his cast, this will probably be the case here.

This looks very interesting. Reminds me of that one movie Will had with humans turning into creatures. Not Men in Black but the movie that was like a zombie movie. The one where he had some special blood to turn the creatures back to human.

I wouldn't go on to say that his more recent movies are terrible, they are by no means good ones but they aren't the worst out there. I feel he has interesting concepts and ideas but he executes it all wrong whenever he helms the story and screenplay and brings in his trademark "twists". Fortunately for After Earth, the story is by Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli) and screenplay by him, Stephen Ghaghan (The Da Vinci Code, Traffic), along with Shymalan will make an interesting trio, especially since Shymalan isn't conceptualizing it all by himself.

That was I am Legend, I think.

i don't understand how him and his son go through all shit and their hair is perfect. i mean will gets sucked out of that corridor and ends up with a gash in his forehead but, not a single f^%in' hair out of place. so....

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a planet of fresh hair

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the battlefield where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some aliens outside of the school
When a couple of greys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got my hair a little singed and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your son, now put a comb to your hair "

I whistled for a spaceship and when it came near the
License plate said "fresh" and had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this ship was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo, to the planet of fresh hair!

I pulled up to a planet about seven or eight
And I yelled to the captain "Yo, homes smell you later!"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of fresh ass hair

Yeah, it was I Am Legend

But yeah, this movie looks absolutely amazing. I really hope that has the kind of feel that the first act of I Am Legend had, because that portion of the movie was seriously some of the best filmmaking I've ever seen, and it would fit perfect for this movie

Compare this to the new Tom Cruise film. What would you rather see? Thia or Oblivion.

I saw both trailers before the Hobbit and After Earth looks 10x more appealing and intriguing. Plus cruise is a scientologist. So it gives of that weird vibe. I still prefer him in Eyes Wide Shut...wait what?
