Kotal Kahn... a relative of Shao Kahn? The Konqueror himself?

Hopefully the "Kotal Kahn is related to Shao Kahn" theory can die down now.

Khan (or Kahn in MK) = overlord / ruler.
 
The leak said Kotal was not related to Shao but he was related to Shinnok.

Boon recently confirmed that Kotal was not related to Shao.

I don't think he's related to the emperor Shao Khan,he's more of the descendant to the Outworld emperor,I've noticed the attire he is wearing,its Aztec,something tells me that Kotal Khan is a descendant of the Aztecs. I rest my case.
 
I'm thinking Kotal Kahn is Shao Kahn. Like he reverted to his pre-emperor form. Back when he was some outworld priest who just happens to look like an aztec.
 
What part of the leak do you guys not understand?

He has no relation with Chinggis Khaan whatsoever. He is related to Shinnok.

The leak is not confirmed to be true.

And by related, I don't think it means by blood... just that Shinnok and Kotal have history or some sort of link
