Re: ** Official PPV Wrestling Result Thread **
Still though, you have to admire the athleticism that's shown in Professional wrestling, guys doing Double Backflips off the top of a cage is just amazing to see. As for the acting, yeah there's quite a bunch of guys who shouldn't be on the Microphone ( Cody Rhodes is a great example ) but then there's guys who just captivate you completely ( like The Rock or Mick Foley ).
I agree with everyone on how amazing the Monday Night Wars were, never had there been a time where Wrestling was so damn popular, every kid in my school either had an Austin 3:16 shirt or an nWo shirt. But nowdays, I truly feel that there's been so much things accomplished in wrestling from that era that there's nothing as fresh to pull off nowdays. Hardcore wrestling has just killed it off for me at times, It just went way overboard, to the point where the fans want to see wrestlers encountering near death experiences, it just waters down actual proper pro wrestling product.
And now we've had the WWE coming in from the Attitude Era and the purchase of WCW, with it's adult humour and violent wrestling, to a now more toned down product with a PG Rating slapped on it. It's just not the same, how can you go from doing something like Die Hard and then revert down to something like Dora the Explorer? It just shuns away alot of fans.
