What is a "Referral"?

They can be found in everyones user control panel. And how do you get them? In the great words of the Neanderthal Caveman.

"Ugh! OOGA BOOGA" [what the hell?]
 
If you ask someone to join the forum tell them to put you as a referral and it will list how many people you referred to the site.
 
No problem. It's really nothing special, just sort of a glimpse as to how many people you cared to recruit for the forum. Meh, I don't think anyone looks at that though. they probably don't even notice it there.
 
I thot is was some kinda thing to stop flame posts, like it showed posts that have been reported, and referred to the mods...ohwell i was wrong, meh, its a pretty meaningless thing anyways
 
But it may be something we use for contests or something else in the future. Or maybe just a special profile ranking as a member who referred a lot of other members.
