Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett passed away Friday July 7, 2006.

He was the co-founder of Pink Floyd along with Roger Waters.

He was only present for Floyd's first two albums, Piper at the Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful of Secrets but his contributions to both Pink Floyd and the music industry are immeasurable.

He passed away from complications of diabetes at the age of 60.

For those unaware of his history, check out these sites if you're interested in knowing more.

Yeah, dude, this is fudged up!

I just got the news today from none other than Khaos [yeah we're friends again] Unbelievably sad news, man. I'm a big Floyd fan from many years back. And this news is indeed something I didn't want to hear about. 60 years aint old either, just goes to show you that we all go sooner or later and in one way or another.

R.I.P Syd!

P.S - I love the commemorative tag, dude

Sadly, half the people here probably don't even know who he is. 60 is pretty young, that's too bad.

man I can't believe he's gone........I'm a huge fan of Pink Floyd. I think im gonna sit down to one of the records this afternoon. Wish I could be at the funeral...

That's sad news...he was young too. That one video was well done imo, more 'In Memory Of...' vids should be made for him.
