Guys Guys, In Daniel Pesinas (The Guy who Played Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke, Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage) Wikipedia it says that he was fired by Midway,

    Heres a Quote from it

"Pesina was fired from Midway in 1994 for wearing Cage's costume in an advertisement for the Strata arcade game, BloodStorm, which turned out to be an emphatic flop among fighting game fans. The ad first appeared in the debut issue of the defunct Electronic Gaming Monthly spinoff magazine EGM2."

I believe the most accepted explain now is that they wanted a "ninja-free" MK and put the spotlight on the cyborgs. Since then Ed Boon has regretted this decision and said as long as he's working on MK games, Scorpion will be playable in every single one of them.
