okay, I play guitar, but there are too many songs to list, so I'll just say how many I can play, 224. I'm currently learning how to play the test your might song from my cousin.

I honestly don't know what and how many songs I can play, I can play mostly anything from metallica. Poison, GNR, and a few other bands. Sabbath, Ozzy, Ratt, just random stuff. Heh.

anybody who actually can play an instrument properly would never be able to list everything they can play. I can pretty much pick up anything on guitar and bass by ear and play along, minus the solos, they take practice. stuff i mainly play recently on bass are songs like the boys of summer, walking on the moon by the police, less than jake's how's my driving doug hastings? and plenty of ska, just to keep my fingers working while i'm between bands. i haven't played guitar in months

That's a very good quality that you have, a lot of guitar players cannot play songs by ear, they resort to tabs too much. I'm trying to make myself a better player by playing a song (hardly the solo aswell) by ear, and then checking my version with a tab sites version, most of the time it's right, but I strive to have perfect accuracy. ;)
 
I usually cant play by ear, sometimes bass parts but thats it. I just use Power Tab, i love it.
 
I learned how to play ode to joy by ear :)

I forgot to list that one.
I add little trills and vibratos here and there though to add more flavor.

I never really count them. I've being playing the guitar for more than 15 years. I just can't really tell. I just know it is a lot.
You guys say you play all those songs, do you include the solo aswell or just the rythm parts? As for know I like just to chill, metal riffs don't require many skills apart of be precise & fast and having control of the palm muting. As a matter of fact, I know a lot of mucisians that just can't do it right and they are damn good guitar players.
As for me I play many styles, it goes from Classic, rock, hard rock, Metal, Death Metal to Black Metal.
Right now I doing abother cover band with songs from Incubus, Oasis, Nirvana (Unplugged), Tracy Chapman, Staind,...Cool tunes to play in bars :)

For me it depends. I've never actually figured out a solo on my own, so if I haven't seen it tabbed out somewhere, chances are I don't play it. A lot of the stuff I play is solo-less, though, so I usually don't need to bother anyway. If I can figure out the lead riffs to a song by ear, I will, but mostly I just stick to the rhythm parts.

For most of the songs I listed I also do the solo as well. Some songs I will skip some parts if I don't know it, not if I can't play it. Most of the songs I listed don't have hard solos though.
