He was a lot closer to getting in this year. This time around, he missed the Hall of Fame by 2 votes. Part of that could be voters voting against players who had anything at all to do with the Steroid Era (a concern I expressed last year), in some cases even turning in blank ballots (one voter working for MLB.com even admitted to leaving Maddux, Glavine, and Thomas off his ballot completely for this same reason, so there's one voter you can throw beer at).
I think Biggio will get in next year, but with all these hardliners who turn in blank ballots, you never know what will happen.
