The russian movie and comedy channel TNT aired a TV spot for the Mortal Kombat 1995 movie. The song is performed by Buranovskie Babushki, a folklore band, that participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2012 for Russia (second place). They are kind of adorable but this is both funny and WTF. Did not expect that

Mortal Kombat is a cult film in Russia. Almost every kid from 80s and 90s has watched it many times. I saw it more than 30 times back in the days. The second half of the 90s has been the most popular time for Mortal Kombat which is a little bit later than in the US. Sega Genisis (Mega Drive) was the most popular console because Playstation 1 was too expensive until 1999. The later 90s were heydays for both Mortal Kombat 2 / (Ultimate) Mortal Kombat 3 and the movie.
