As much as I love Rain, I'll say Smoke.
The place he is in now means he can evolve past the whole "MK ninja" thing. This Enenra entity could become something awesome! And I would LOVE to see that.
But please, take Khrome off that list. He isn't a real thing and never will be.

It is always been Ermac in my opinion, such a badass character..

He really is. And he is probably the one that's evolved the most in the old timeline... has potential in the new one, yet he seems to be stuck as a secondary character for now.
They all have potential though... sans Khrome.
But it would mean they would have to evolve past the "MK ninja" thing. And too many fans seems to cling on to that part, rather than wanting the characters to develop and become unique.
