I think we all can agree that The Witcher 3

I think we all can agree that The Witcher 3 is going to be GOTY 2015.
I have never played W1, only played W2, but I can't remember that W2 was this good / amazing like W3 is right now.
I would probably place W3 among the top 10 games of all time such as FF7, Shenmue, Zelda OOT, SotC etc.
The only game which might be a competition that I can think of which is still coming out in 2015 is the new Batman. While I think this game is gonna be awesome too, it probably won't get close to the epicness W3 has to offer. Is there any other game that comes out in 2015 that can give W3 any competition for GOTY 2015? I doubt it.
From the games that are already out, it's only Bloodborne which is a great game, but W3 is by far better IMO.

W3 GOTY 2015 <3

I won't be buying as it doesn't look too cool to me.
But I will admit, the commercials for it come on at least 200 times a day. I can't get away from it on any social media either.
It'll probably be GOTY.

I'm trying my best to stick with it, but the Medevil theme is killing my vibe. I hate games like this, but I took a shot in the Dark and hoped that I would enjoy it. I'll let the game run it's course, but I find myself playing for 30 minutes max and then switching over to MK whenever things becoming boring.

I dunno, if the game had guns and was in first person I'd enjoy it (Fallout 4  ).

Combat feels great, but interacting with the world overall feels very clunky. The character controls like he's drunk, he has a strange momentum to him that makes it hard to walk precisely. Which is especially annoying when trying to investigate something.

I'm playing on maximum difficulty right now. Just got the griffin fight, seems nearly impossible lol

I'm enjoying W3 way more than I did Inquistion so far; actually, aside from MK, it the funnest game I've played this year atm. The momentum thing Punch mentioned is kinda bothersome, like when I first started I kept running into fences and off of cliffs when investigating, but I've adjusted to it. I like the design of the monsters too, and all the planning you have to do beforehand when you fight the big ones.

My favorite thing about Witcher 3 is that for most of the decisions there is no obvious right or wrong choice; it feels more like a natural choice; I just wish they didn't have the timer for the really important ones lol. I don't really have anything negative to say about it aside from the occasional hitches.

Anybody know if hard mode limits how much experience you earn? I've been doing as many side quests as I can and I'm still level 4. Been in Velen for a while now and every enemy I encounter is 7 and above. It's absolutely brutal, but feels so rewarding when I overcome it.

I can't stand games that limit experience based on difficulty. Persona 4 did this too, where hard mode made you gain less experience. Terrible design choice imo.

It's a beautiful game and Geralt is pretty cool, but honestly, I like Dragon Age: Inquisition alot better in terms of world, story and gameplay. Also, Shadow of Mordor is a better game, imo.

It might be better than Witcher 2, but it's still a few ranks below DA:I and SoM.

From what I've been reading it seems like that is the case; that is pretty messed up; at one point they were talking about adding permadeath to the hardest difficulty, so I wonder if they're still gonna go with that, maybe just patch it in and give people already playing the option.

I also gotta agree with Punch, Mordor was fun but nowhere near DA:I and W3 for me.

I don't know, but if I were to guess I'd say no since none of the enemies scale. I hope they do add in permadeath, that'd get me to try Death march.

Lol, that's part of the reason why I wussed out and went Story and Sword; its fine but it could definitely be a bit more challenging. I might end up cranking the difficulty up but so far I'm good.

The best thing about the permadeath is that they said they'd give you the option to save but they'd delete them all once you died lol.

Why is that good

I do think I might turn it down to normal. Combat is hard, but possible. Aggro enemies one at a time and deal with them accordingly. But escort missions? Not a chance in HELL. I'll need to be severely overleveled to do the weakest missions.

I just find it funny that instead of limiting your saves or just going off autosaves they let you save as much as you want and just delete them all if you die haha.

I hate escort missions, but fortunately I haven't done too many of em yet; anytime they get too close I just Aard or use the charm spell so that helps save some trouble. Good thing the AI isn't terrible; friggin Vesemir was the worse during the griffin fight, heck Roach did more damage then him lol. How far are you in the story? I gotta imagine you're pretty much doing side stuff until you overlevel lol.

Perma death terrifies me. I get pissed when I lose 20 minutes of progress, I've no idea what would happen if I lost like 20 hours :afraid:

The escort that really screwed me up was where I had to protect the miners from the Ghouls. There were way too many for me to do anything. It takes too long to kill one so singling them out is a no go, and trying to take them all on at once is insta death. I'm just leaving it alone for now.

My current main mission is to look for some witch in Velen.

I just bumped it down to Blood and Broken Bones. The difference is INCREDIBLE. I just mowed down an entire mob of those lizard spider things. Normally they would have killed me in 2 hits. But I was tanking everything and dealing massive damage.

Deathmarch can kiss my ass for now
