Lets just stop this now. Its about to derail the thread. Just people can speculate if jax is gay others can speculate thats hes not. Damn its not a crime for me to say jax is not gay and vice versa. Like if you dont agree with someone on here your intelligence is indulted. Like its not that damn serious. This is why we cant have discussions on here.

I actually want to understand where you're coming from. What is your reasoning behind thinking that whenever someone says something that's along the lines of homosexuality, they're pushing an agenda?

I'm not fighting here, I think we can all come to a better understanding of each other.

Since it was brought up... I always envisioned Kitana and Jade playing together. Optionally with Mileena when they felt like it.

Side of the story?

The issue is that people are putting real life scenarios into a game that is clearly over the top with fantasy elements. Equality in the world is a great thing but putting such a sensitive and heavily controversial element such as homosexuality into a game that literally just gained a buzz again? That could potentially turn a lot of people off because there are some people who simply do not support that. Violence is fine. Half-naked women is fine. Bad language is fine. Homosexuality, for the people I'm speaking about, however, is not. I am not one of these people but I have an issue with people slapping a label on someone that doesn't fit. There is nothing, literally NOTHING in the storyline of Mortal Kombat that even slightly alludes to Jax being homosexual. In DOTR, he seems interested in Ruby. In the Annihilation, he flirts with Jade. In X, he now has a daughter. How on earth do you guys get gay potential out of a military major who's obviously made passes at women and had a child? You'd be better off saying that Reptile is likely to be homosexual, as he comes from a matriarchal society and has didn't even know Khameleon existed. My question is: Why Jax?

If you're gay, cool. That is your right. To keep saying that another character is gay when you have no proof, though, is ridiculous. People die from the wrong labels being attributed to them. Bad things happen when people talk out of their asses and make assumptions from nowhere. I made this thread to chat with other users about who Jacqui's mother could be. This should not have turned into a "Jax is gay" topic discussion because no one has any evidence to support the claim. The mods always talk about staying on topic so why is it that none have stepped in to steer this one back in the right direction? That, Taj, is the agenda that I'm talking about. It is as if the rules only apply in certain situations. Like, jeez...is there a fear of offending a gay person that stopped the mods from saying, "Guys, this isn't the thread for that, talk about it somewhere else?" Furthermore, if you all see that I made this thread for a specific reason and that I really would like for you all to at least stop talking about the gay "theory" in THIS thread, why would you continue doing it?

From this, it's clear that you think that everyone who was joking about Jax being gay was trying to do it in a nasty way. That can't be further from the truth, they're just little tongue in cheek comments that stem from the fact that Jacqui's Mother ain't around. Either that or you don't see the comments as jokes, which to that I would say that you need to.

I can't seem to find a better way to explain it than what I said. Bottom line is that jokes are meant to be jokes, these jokes if anything support the openness of being gay. You just need to stop thinking that just because people allude to jokes that have homosexual content in them, that doesn't mean they're pushing an agenda.

Yet no one threw the gay notion around at Kenshi, Sub or any other guy character so to speculate on the OG black character is very offensive and sad that people can't see it. Whether it was meant to be a joke, I and others(Reiko) don't find it funny at all. We also have a lot of anthropologists here that seem think they know what an African American should look like, how? Who made you guys the specialist in what makes an African American, Black? Stick to the title of the thread, who is Jaqui's mom. This gay/not black enough sh!t needs to stop right now and the mods should have stopped it before it got to seven pages.

-Homosexuality is too sensitive and heavy of a subject to be included in Mortal Kombat? A game in which you dismember people in some truly horrific ways? Nah, dude. And that way of thinking is more damaging than a gay character in MK.

-Jax is not gay, clearly. And to get worked up over a fictional character being called gay... Is just ridiculous. It's like, who cares? If you have a brain, you know he's not gay. If people want to joke or speculate, let them. It doesn't matter. Sexuality can't be a sensitive subject. People keep treating it like it is, but it shouldn't. We're all sexual beings. It's a HUGE part of who we are. But unless we're talking about heterosexuality, it becomes weird? No. Stop. Stop all of it.

The way to change that unfortunate reality is by forcing those people to acknowledge the fact that anyone can be a homosexual - even a cool "one of the dudes" type of guy like Jax, who doesn't wear pink and obviously isn't into home decor.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain your stance, so please don't read any snark into my next comment: it's because you made yourself such an easy target by saying that it can't possibly be Jax. Yeah, it can. It was an innocent joke that transformed into something huge because you didn't seem able to accept the 1%, extremely unlikely, possibility that Jax could turn out to be gay.

I don't know where you live, but for a lot of city-dwellers in the West, making jokes about homosexuality isn't taboo at all, it's an everyday thing. Jax doesn't get special protection because he flirted with a woman in a throwaway line in a non-canon appearance.

Discussing Jax's sexuality in a thread about the identity of Jacqui's mother is not off topic. If Jax is gay, there is ZERO chance that Tanya or Jade are the mother, and Sonya goes down to 0.00001% (female friends of gay couples do act as surrogate mothers on occasion). Unknown character becomes almost 100% likely. If Jax is straight, that ups the known female characters' chances a little bit.

If that speculation doesn't interest you, don't respond to it. It was 2 or 3 obviously non-serious joke posts over 4 pages of thread before you caused it to blow up by acting so sensitive. No one except for you was taking the "theory" seriously.
 
Oh yeah. And to go back to the label thing... I'm sorry, but a gay label wouldn't fit Jax? Good God. lol

News flash, I'm gay. I'm not some skinny little lisp machine with flappy wrists. In fact, I get more girls hitting on me than men. But the label doesn't fit. I should trade in my gay card. lol

It is exactly how I said it is. The rules only apply under certain situations, otherwise the mods would have done their jobs and acted accordingly.
 
Both sides of this conversation are making me cringe so hard. What would be the point of having him be gay? I don't see the point of any one expressing any sort of sexuality one way or the other in this game. Am I against it? No, not really. But I do think it's out of place.

Jacqui's mom is gonna be some random earthrealm-er just like Takeda's mom was. It's really the only thing that makes sense. That or she's a robot that Jax built haha
 
P.w, how about you make a thread " Jax's sexuality" and include all of the male kharacters that don't have romance interest, then you won't get complaints from people who don't want to hear that sh!t. Obviously he had a relationship with a women to have Jaqui so to assume he's gay has no relevance on who her mom is and is off topic.

Did you complain about Johnny flirting with Sonya in MK9? And Liu flirting with Kitana? It looks like Takeda/Cassie/Kung Jin/Jacqui are getting paired up amongst each other, as well, so MK isn't some asexual realm where characters have nothing but fighting on their minds.

For the record, I couldn't possibly care less about Jax's sexuality either way.

Like I said - I'm not against it. You make a good point, sure. I could've done without those scenes to begin with though haha. They were cheesy as all hell.
