The end of Chapter 3 straight-up shows an older Jax training her. He's alive.

Ed and Kittlesen have previously said that just because they are in the comic doesn't mean that they are in the game, and vice versa.
Hopefully Jax gets killed off again in MKX or just has a small cameo role.

I wonder where the plot of this comic is gonna go after April. Guess it will do it's own thing and have events and characters that never showed up in the game.

It's pretty much already doing that. It'll continue to show more of characters in the game as well, I'm sure. It's not going to show everyone before April.
