If the trailer is any thing to go on, this look could very well be ermac.

Very very interesting picture ! This is awesome ! I love this dark vision of Ermac !!

If MKX is this kind of dark, this will be a great game, and a fantastic new vision for the franchise

I love his face and the barbed wire on his legs :)

Yah I hope so too, Im so sick of the cartoony joke this franchise has become, I want it to be the dark an gritty tone the trailer portrays
 
actually....I would say you can pretty much confirm thats legit.....http://beneto.ca/ several of his final designs for mk9 are there...so no reason boon would tweet this, hes teasing
 
He looks great, better than MK9 Ermac which hardly had any red on him.
This certainly confirms a darker tone for MKX, if it is indeed real.
 
yah, i mean....why would the lead artist at NRS make it, and why would boon post it? if it wasnt? But who knows....Heres hoping we get that dark brutal mk boon promised all those years ago
 
Holy crap thats a kickass-looking Ermac! I definitely think this is legit considering who it came from and that it really looks like a render. If this is how Ermac looks, Ibcant wait to see everyone else. Boon said theyll be showing MKX all three days at E3. I cant wait!
 
yah i know man, i cant wait for this week to be over to see all the footage....I hope they dont go crazy though, coz we knew every thing about mk9 like EVERY thing before it was released
 
I just want to see a few characters, some gameplay, a fatality or two, and a clue to where the story is going. Id be happy with that.

You guys.

First off what was cartoonish about MK9? Aside from the fact it's a video game, and always going to look cartoonish considering it's not real... That game looked far more dark and gritty than probably 95% of video games to that point.

Second, as much as I love secrets going in to a game, it's going to be hard for Boon to keep any considering the fan base of this game just hounds him and his crew nonstop for more info. The MK community is to blame for there being hardly anything left to discover once the game comes out.
 
dark an gritty? right...bright purple back grounds, nightmare before xmas lookin screamin trees? tsun turning into a clown? the cheesy dialog, cage shoving throphies into their heads....yahhh nah wasnt a cartoon at all....just the look an feel felt like a cartoon, it was too colorful an birght it was hardly dark and gritty..mkx but...
 
^^ While it had a cartoony appearance, it actually made sense since it was a homage to the original trilogy, which was full of humour (friendships, babalities, toasty!, etc...). On the other hand, you will have to agree that the gore was at its finest - I mean just look at Kung Lao's buzzsaw fatality!

If this game is to retell the events of MK4, then again, it would make sense for MKX to be much darker in tone.
 
nah the gore was there, but it seemed to plain and boring, every fatality looked the same, and un inspired....and was rehashed from all the games...buzzsaw was just shaolin monks idea

I'm guessing you're not going to be satisfied unless after pressing the button combination for your fatality it cuts to a real life scene of people dying.

And what world do you live in that clowns aren't scary as shit?

There was a fatality where Stryker blew the other persons head off with a gun and you could still see the tongue wagging.

Are there games any darker than this?
