As cheesy as it sounds, I actually listened to that band during my early teenage years for the sole purpose of trying to pick up girls...it would've worked had this been the hair band era and not the grunge era.

Actually, they were originally part of NWOBHM...at least they were around the time of their first album. Then they (allegedly) got booed off the stage at the 1981 Reading Festival, which led to them becoming a hair band.
