How to use classic fatalities and costumes with retro codes?

I used the Scorpion retro code to unlock the costume and fatality, but the fatality isn't showing up on the "moves" screen. What am I doing wrong, do I have to open up a krypt? Also, when I selected him the first time I played by pressing start, it gave me the option for his classic costume. The second time I played, the classic costume wasn't there as an option. Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong! Thanks!
 
Can someone confirm how to use these retro costumes and fatalities? I also entered the code on the reciepe for Scorpions classic outfit and fatality, but for some reason, I cant find it anywhere in the Selection menu in player options...

Do I have to activate it or something?
