MK is the only fighter where i actually like all the fighters.

I used to be that way. And then MK4 came rolling in. I still liked the game, but it started to introduce lame characters. And it only got worse as the series went on.

I liked some of the new characters. Fujin, Jarek is alright. Kai was ok. Quan Chi was a great character. Shinnok was cool but with no good look. Mavado, Hsu Hao, Drahmin and Nitara sucked. But Frost, and Kenshi were good. So its like some characters were lame while others were ok or bad.

IMO characters in MK are usually defined by their special moves. That is the reason I have always HATED Kobra, Jarek, and Mokap.
Human Smoke is exempt from this only because what he lacks in special moves he more than makes up for in jaw dropping combo potential (in UMK3) :)

Hmmm.. I agree and I disagree. I usually find a character interesting through their design and backstory.

But I have been known to completely hate on a character due to terrible moves and specials. I usually love Mileena... But I could not stand to play as her in any of the post MK4 games.

Yeah thats kinda what I meant, It's usually the unpopular or new characters that get judged by their moves. I don't know if this is just me but when I see a new character I decide whether or not I like them in three easy steps :)
1. How they look, If they don't appeal to me visually then I move onto. . .
2. How interesting their story is, if it is boring I check. . .
3.Their moves and combos, if these suck then IMO the character sucks

I think that is why Stryker has a fan base at all, he looks stupid, his story is boring, but his combos and specials are pretty good.

You know, after all these years... I STILL don't know Stryker's story.

I only played MKD and MKA, but I absolutely love everything about the world of Mortal Kombat. The characters are awesome and diverse, the arenas are scenic and gives you a sense of adventure, the music sounds techno from MK-MK4, but afterwards it's like music you find in movies, the modes of gameplay are cool and the storyline of the entire franchise is so well put together that I give the game a 10/10. The game and its characters taught me many things, like how martial arts is fought with honor and disipline and how there's so many types of fighting styles.

My favorite character is Ermac. At first, it was because green is my favorite color and I loved the glow his telekinetic powers and eyes made. His costume is cool too. Like honestly, the striped stuff covering is head makes him mysterious. What's also cool is how he was made. The souls of many warriors? That is so awesome. I also like how he turned to the good guys side to redeem himself.

I have other favorite characters, like Kung Lao. He's one of my heros mainly because he is the quiet guy who doesn't fight for fame or power, but because it's the right thing to do. The hat, oh man, that hat is the icing of the cake. Like honestly, have you ever heard of a hat being a throwing weapon? Well, maybe that guy from the 007 movie, but it gives Kung Lao his coolness.

Then there's Reptile, the sneaky lizard man. At first I thought he was evil, but then I found out that he's just trying to restore his kind's race. He makes me think of how savage animals are in the natural world, and I love how he works that savagery in his fighting (Especially those acid and tongue fatalities!) Fujin was also a big influence to me because he is so respectful and he's the perfect example of what a good and wise god is. I love his long ponytail and wind powers. Another one of my favorite characters is Nightwolf. He is also like Fujin, except he combines Fujins wisdom with Reptile's ferocity (Because you know, as an aborigional, he fights like an savage). The tomahawks and the spirit arrow are both the icing on the cake for this guy.

Chameleon is cool too. Even though his past is unclear, he's never spoken a single word and has no enemies or allies, his fusion of different ninja fighting skills is a clever idea. His invisible skin is also cool. Cyrax is another one of my favorites mainly because he isn't corrupted like Sektor and Smoke. The bombs, saw and green pulse blade gives this guy a great futuristic theme.

And then, there's everyone's hero: Liu Kang. This guy is freaking awesome. He's fast, he's flexible and just a fun character to play as. I love his costumes, like his normal living body one with the red headband and pants. But even more cool is his zombie look. Then there's the ghost who is also awesome, even though I only trained with him and never actually got to fight as him. His high-pitched voice makes him sound like he's having fun, and that gives me a sense of excitement too. The bicycle kick was so awesome and effective. His nunchaku fighting style is so fluid and easy to use.

Havik is one of my biggest inspirations. He's shown me how important chaos and freedom are in the universe. I always enjoy how flexible he is. The morning star is probabley the most menacing looking weapon I've seen so far. His face is so cool, like a zombie. I also like how they see water as chaotic because it's shapeless and ever-changing. I also like how his costume design fits with the word chaos because it's so random and it shows how he's free to choose what he wears.

My next favorite character is Drahmin. He is the scarriest guy, next to Baraka, I've seen. Imagine how Quan Chi feels being hunted down by this guy and his hulking buddy Moloch. He likes to torture, and I bet that his biggest motivation while fighting. The weapon is cool, and I always thought it WAS his arm, until I played Armageddon and saw that it's just a glove-like weapon. The skinless body along with the flies makes this guy the grossest character yet.

And finally, Quan Chi. Everything about this guy is cool. His costume is sweet, especially the spike strap and his white, blad skin with red tattoos (Reminds me a little bit of Kratos from God of War). His powers are cool too, with the skulls and all that. But the best part is how he thinks. His plans work out so great, and even when they don't (exapmple: when scorpion send him back to the netherrealm in MK4), he still a big threat to the MK universe. He plans everything out, like how he got Scorpion to believe Sub Zero was his clan's killer, or when he allied himself with Shang Tsung. He's also a good negotiator, like when he convinced Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn and that stubborn Onaga to join forces to save the darkness. He is, in my opinion, the smartest villian in the MK world.

Everybody else I don't like as much, but they are all cool in their own way, and more importantly, each of them contributes to the storyline. Each character affects another. But their diversity of powers, costumes and subplots makes this game such an awesome experience and totally outrageous adventure.

Haha the only MK1 - 3 Character I hated was Stryker...He's a riot police officer who survived the annihilation of the people on earth (Protected by Raider I think) who then walked around fighting the Execution squads...Yeah...That's his story...=/ He was only included in MK3 and Armageddon why waste a character slot on him I'd rather have Rain, Tremor or even Khameleon...

I know some girl who loves some of the characters
