Midway has sent along higher quality versions of the Super & Pro Moves feature from yesterday. The video clip goes into depth on the details of the various unique fighting mechanics in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Here is how Midway describes the modes.

Super Moves are what separates Mortal Kombat from other 3D fighters. With fighters that can teleport, shoot projectiles and cast spells, Mortal Kombat delivers the most exciting battles in fighting games today.

Pro Moves are enhanced versions of Super Moves for the hardcore players. With precise timing, players can expand their Super Moves into Pro Moves. For example, a Pro Move will launch two projectiles instead of one, inflict more damage or extend a combo beyond where it normally ends. While Pro Moves are more challenging to pull off, the rewards are also bigger.

We have made a higher quality stream available below. You can also download the 720p HD clips in your format of choice directly below and also new iPhone 3G optimized clips.

I think Midway should work on their jargon. These are "special moves," not "super." Gonna subscribe to the SF school of thought here.

I agree, there's nothing particularly "super" about the MK characters moves. But notice they've never called them that before. It was always "special moves" in the moves list in MKDA-A. I think they're calling them "super moves" because there are "superheroes" in the game this time. I'm thinking it's DC twisting their arm the same way they did for "heroic brutality".

Super has more to do this is MK vs Super heroes (& villians too, but you get the point)
