Why do you like the Mortal Kombat franchise?

Where is the all of the above? Anyway, I think it tells a great, if multi retro-canoned storyline. Twists in the story quite often up there with the Resident Evil games.
I do love old school MK gameplay and fatals though. I also miss real secrets, everything is outlayed that your going to get it, why not classic battle Reptile styled scenarios and random mini games?
