Kitana: 1. Royal Storm 2. Mournful 2. Assassin (I can´t decide between the mournful or the assassin, because I don´t like neither of them... The one is Jade and the other is a grapler char which doesn´t suit me... It´s unfair Kitana´s the only with 2 variations)

best variation = raidens one where he connects the dots, just genius

most dissapointing variation = kitanas mournful: having a lot of experience with martial arts bo staff techniques and moves its glaringly obvious they didnt put much though or research into what could be done with a bo staff variation. makes me mad and sad

Kitana's mournful isn't Jade. She still has her fans and special moves with them.
 
Yeah, so far, Kitana only gains Jade's specials in the Mournful Variation. All her normals are still her own. If she uses the staff in any of her normals, I have yet to see it.
 
I'm not sure about her fan toss, but she definitely has some of her fan special moves. Re-watch her variations breakdown video.

She uses her fans in her normals and combos in the Mournful Variation. She even uses the Fan Lift, using her fans, in that Variation. You can see it here:
