The newest issue of Game Informer Magazine with the 8 page long Cover Story on Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is now on store shelves as of late last week. Only some select bookstores carry the issue, but you can always find it at any of the GameStop, Funcoland, Babbages or Software Etc stores across the US. You can use this handy little store locator to help you find the store nearest you.

The new issue has quite a bit of new information including the noting of return of Kitana, Cyrax and Reptile along with the previously announced return of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya, Jax, Raiden, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. It also reveals Liu Kang's role in this part of the series. It also shows many character steches along with stetches of new characters Malvado, Drahmin, and Blind Kenshi. The stetches of Kitana and Raiden are now availible on The Official Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance website.

The article also touches just a bit deeper on the multiple fighting styles that we revealed here before. And how the team studied the use of all the new next-generation system's controllers to find the best method of control for the redesign of the fighting system. They also say to expect less "magic" and "projectiles" in this game because it is going to focus more on the new fighting styles and weapons system than the "magic" dominated old system from the past 4 games.

Also in the new issue are the first ever screenshots of the new game. But you will have to go buy the issue to see these. For all of you who keep emailing us to post pictures, we cannot do this because of threats of legal action against us by Game Informer Magazine if we were to post any scans of the issue or infringe on any of their copyrights. This isn't that much of an issue because I feel that scans of screenshots never show a good representation of the game that a direct screenshot would, and I would rather have people go out and purchase the magazine and see the pictures in all their high quality glossy printed glory.

Also while our server was down last week they also released the Director's Cut of the MK:DA trailer featuring one whole minute of Scorpion performing various attacks and steps. You can get that trailer from the Official MK:DA website.
