Death of the Internet?

a friend of mine sent me showed me this article and I happen to be of the mind that if the word gets out it's possible to stop this.

it's very possible for this to come to be,but only if you let this happen.don't rely on the government because they've become a bit brainless nowadays.
I wish we had the likes of Ben Franklin and other founding fathers to show these guys not to give in to the corperations and special interest groups.

If this actually happens, shit, I'll do whatever I can to keep the internet the way it should be. Christ, we're already giving up plenty of our rights because of that jackass in the White House, we can't give this up too; this is practically all we have left. I knew it'd only be a matter of time before they tried something like this, though. :x

Hmmm.... Well I do know that in 10 years (or so) time the limit of the internet usage will reach its max capacity and 'collasp'. But they are suppose to be working on that (Internet 2). This though is just because everyone is downloading stuff like MP3s.

There were also threats to shut the internet down if porn wasn't stopped. But since we are still using it guess how far that went. Though that was also because of hackers, viruses and other junk as well was getting out of hand.

But this one... I haven't heard this one before. Those 2 above examples were real... This one... No idea. Doesn't sound real because... How do you restrict something like this? The internet extends to many different countries now and there are servers all over the place linking in. How do opu reglualate someone not working even in your own country? You need to set things up for other countries all to use.

This is porperly a made up article. Anyone can do these. My father did something once with a radio thing, he looked in a tech. mag on tech. words and picked out 3 random words that sounded right together. They went on CB rabio and talked about it... 6 months later inside the store they got the 'device' from they found out over 120 people had come asking for this 'device' and the store had a laugh with him about it.

So yeah... If you know the right words, you can fake anything. Plus this doesn't seem like a typical infomation sharing site. 75 cents a week to subscribe is cheap for a mag of any sort... Well... A GOOD mag that is. Plus America has 'freedom of speech'. Anyone can write what they want and 'get away with it' so to speak. And most of what I see on this site is politically related. While I don't know (or care) much about US politics it does seem souly like a one-sided website.

But still it does raise some intereasting things you must admit... That this sort of thing COULD happen. No doubt there are many greedy companies would would love to expand on this sort of thing.
