Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play

So has anyone here picked up the new Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play yet? I've been playing it for the past day or so and absolutely love it. I recommend to all.

I'll be doing a review of it this weekend sometime, but until then tell me your thoughts.

Quick Notes:

- MK1-3 look NEAR perfect. A few minor differences but the game looks beautiful on the PSP's LCD screen.
- No Random Select again
- Not sure if Smoke is fightable in MK2 yet, haven't got Toasty! to appear yet.

Hey Patrick, is it true that the MK games don't live up to their arcade counterparts?

I noticed some of the text in the endings of MKII is missing. Kitana had a few words, Baraka a few lines but Mileena panel one had almost half of the text missing.

I think the most amazing thing is that you have near perfect emulation for the Gensis verisons of MK on the PC. Yet the MK crew can't get it to work almost that good on anything else.

I think the most amazign thing is that you have near perfect emulation of the Arcade games on the PC, which, when you look at MK1-UMK3, are drastically better then any home version. You can probably get a genesis emu to play the MK games on PSP somehow. The genesis version had horrific graphics and sound, so they'd be very easy to reproduce.

Honestly, the people that emulate stuff for free do a much better job than the people that get PAID to do it at eclipse.

Okay, i need some help with mk3. It's difficult enough to find a friend that also has this game for psp so you can get to put in the ultimate kombo kode in if you both get a game over at the same time, but for some reason it won't save smoke. I have auto save ON and I even tried saving after I exit. There is no possible way because there are only 2 options in the start menu: Resume and Exit. When you pick exit it says: "All progress will be lost, do you wish to continue." Also, I don't think it can autosave a 2 player game. Even if I exit mk3, but still in the MAT menu and go back to mk3, I can't choose smoke. Half of MK3 was smoke for me. He is my best guy and now... I have to improvise

Has anyone had any luck with saving smoke?

Yeah, I'm siding with the negative reviews here; this is a rather disappointing effort. The loading times are really inexcusable in MK2/3, which do a good job of draining the battery and seemingly longer than MKT on the PS.

MK1 is the only remotely decent game there, and even that has audio issues (Sonya has only one sound byte for example). If you're a collector, go ahead, if not, don't bother.

yeah i have it and it's awesome! the only rly eratatingthing is the sonya sound thing in MK1 and no, it doesn't have primal rage.

I got it just a week ago and i think its great for any Mk fan and the only bad thing is that MK2 and MK3 have annoying load times but other then that its great. also is reptile fight able on mk1? I have not seen a shadow at the pit

Shadows only appear every sixth time or so, and that number resets every time you exit the game.
