Mortal Kombat 11 rumours

First paragraph was me being a human being trying to be real with you, but as I predicted, you didn't really care. I can only judge you from how you are on here and how you've been towards me, and that's my assessment of you based on that. How you are outside from here I couldn't care less about, as I'm never going to deal with you otherwise than here. Thankfully.

I'm not the one who wanted to discuss statistics, but you're the one who pulled some out of your ass just to try and strengthen your own point. It's nice to see you are actually capable of finding some REAL ones though, instead of just making some up in your head.

And just like you didn't say they should ignore minorities, I didn't say anything about ignoring the majority. I was talking about inclusion and representation, about NRS listening to the minorities instead of ignoring them, and that's exactly what they have done.

If all you care about is good gameplay, then why did you even join in on this discussion? If not other than just to be a dick and make some discourse... which wouldn't surprise me, really... it's just you following the same pattern you've done as always...

As for my avatar, I've always thought sexy femme fatales were awesome. I just want them to look cool. That doesn't change the fact that there were people who complained about the pornstar look the female characters had in MK9 and that NRS listened to them and changed it for the better in MKX. I personally don't mind that they have big breasts and are being sexy. My reason for it though is aesthetics, unlike those who follows whatever makes their dicks hard.

You don't "trying to be real" with someone by putting random and overused labels for no reason. Social skills buddy, go get some.

You were the one who asked for statistics!

"If all you care about is good gameplay" A functional game is what I've typed. How many times have you completely butchered my posts by now?

Orchid looks like a porn star, you idiot. They even did a porno-like mag spread for it. If I recall correctly, Orchid's finisher was flashing her boobs. And what's your problem with porn stars anyways? The males look like them as well, yet I don't see you complaining about it. Is it because you're too busy jerking off to them?

I'm repeating myself here, but again, I personally have nothing against them. I already said this in my post above. However, I was pointing out that people have complained about them and NRS listened to them.

Btw, that "spread" is fanart... it's not official.

And I asked about you finding some REAL statistics instead of just pulling them out of your ass which is what you did at first.

Function usually means that it works gameplay-wise. But feel free to explain what you meant by it then, if that's not what you meant.

"Fanart"? You're full of shit, buddy.
For someone who praises NRS taking a different direction from "porn stars" like a broken record, you definitely DO have a problem. As long as it's females only that is, we're good then, yeah? ;)

None of the statistics I pulled out of my ass. Being an asspirate is purely your forte.

Functional as in game functions properly. Game didn't function properly on the PC. There's an entire whinge/rage thread right on this forum. I contributed a lot of rage in there myself, only to be overtaken by Misucra...or whatever his name is

No, truly... it's like that Ermac art we saw where he looked like Scarecrow. It's not official art, even though it was created by one of the official artists... If you've played KI, then you'd know that's not how she looks like in the game and in the official art. It's like another woman wearing her costume.

And no, you're wrong once again. Jade's main MK9 costume is my favourite for her and I loved her in that game. I wasn't a fan of Kitana's and Sonya wearing stilettos was just so out of character, but I overall liked the costumes in MK9. I just think the ones we got in MKX were better, especially for Kitana and Mileena. But I understand that the outfits in MK9 were supposed to be an updated version of their costume in the 2D era games, so I understand why they looked the way they did. And I was fine with it.

When a male character shows up in a thong, then you can compare them. But until then, you're just sounding like... well, you.

As for functions, fair enough, there was more to it than gameplay... but that's still not anything to do with what we've been talking about here. That's aesthetics, character design, character popularity, story importance and such. But I do agree that a functional game is a good thing to aspire for.

Honestly, that Orchid picture is not that far from her final design. The artist just lengthened her hair and removed the white bra underneath the green top.

Personally, I think some of the concept art for MKX were more interesting than what we got in the game. Alas, the artist is usually not the one to make the final decision.

I quite like Orchid's new design and story path. Her retro costume shows that wearing skin-tight shiny latex doesn't really work anymore, though I had hoped we'd gotten her KI2 costume instead.

Aaaanyways... Let's talk MK11 again. ^^

Yeah, completely agreed.
So when discussing a character's originality, it's not all that important HOW original a character is, but rather where they take inspirations from and how well the developers put their own spin on them to make them different.

Takeda, for example... He's trained by Hanzo and has the same abilities as his father, Kenshi, and it's showing in both Story Mode and his gameplay, not to mention his costume is heavily inspired from modern ninjas like Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden/Dead or Alive, as well as Raiden from the Metal Gear series. But even so, I personally feel like he's his own character, due to how NRS has presented him. He's nothing like either Hanzo or Kenshi personality-wise, being more lighthearted and casual in his approach, and most of his gameplay is pretty original as well, other than the obvious Hanzo-moves in his Shirai Ryu variation, and even then he plays differently than Hanzo.

Precisely.
Basically what I was getting at is that it's more important how they are different from the rest of the MK roster.
Could Kabal have been partly inspired by The Flash or 1 of the other different comic book speedsters, back in the day? Perhaps.
What's more important, though (IMO), was how he was different from the other characters in the roster at the time.

Yes, Takeda is a good example.
This is the reason why I didn't like some of the 2D / 3D post-MK3 characters that took moves and appearances from other characters and didn't seem as original in their own debut (Frost, Jarek, Shujinko).
Do I think that they can be vastly improved upon for future games? HELL YES!
Since being acquired by WB, NRS has shown (me, at least) that they can take characters like Ermac and Kenshi (who seemed to have similar moves in the 3D era) and make them very unique to each other.

An idea that I though would be cool for Frost (no pun intended) was actually implemented in MKX via Reptile's Nimble variation.
I think I had discussed it with someone in a thread a while back (maybe Misucra), regarding how Frost could be made different from Sub-Zero. I mentioned that I'd like to see moves for her that resembled her being an apprentice, such as not having her ice freeze the opponent completely, but maybe slow them down (ala Reptile's Nimble variation) and stalactite / stalagmite moves (which Tremor has).

Misucra has had some awesome ideas for Frost to become her completely own design and character. Too bad that she looked just like "female Sub-Zero" again in MKX. :/

If it walks like a duck...

Spare me the bullshit. The point was made, it wasn't fanart like you claimed. For someone using words like "wrong again", you've been wrong about everything. Starting with labels, ending with statistics.

Male character in a thong? You're nuts . You're the one who kept coming back to the functionality bit and I clarified it to you.

Now get off my dick about it :)

Yeah, I would have preferred something else for the MKX cameo.
Perhaps her 3D era maskless alternate costume.

I loved that outfit. THAT was an original look for her, and yet they gave her an MK ninja palette-swap costume and made that her main... *sigh*

Frost's appearance in MKX was so brief, I doubt NRS felt the need to put much effort into designing her.

True. She didn't even need to be there, it was just an excuse for Hanzo and Subbie to fight.

If it walks like a duck...

You're sounding like Trash. Makes sense...

Funny you mention that, guy really has a problem with me being a "Khrome fan". At one second I thought I'm a Scorpion fan, then the next thing it's a Khrome fan. Incoherent labels are amazing. :)

Toy Factory Accidents are persona non grata in Mortal Kombat.

I'm not just saying this as a Frost fan, but they had to have had some sort of effort in creating her since she has five concept drawings. Same goes for Li Mei. She doesn't have that much going on in X, but there's a bit of concept art showing.
