Arguments For:

1. Street Fighter 2 Turbo had characters vomit occur unpredictably
2. Super Street Fighter 2 for Sega Mega Drive has partially blood, it was removed on all other consoles
3. Capcom lost the license for Marvel and Tatsunoko characters, all Marvel vs. Capcom games are being pulled from digital stores and the cease of production of any more copies of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
4. Capcom Japan doesn't have as much say in Street Fighter since they sold the IP to Capcom USA. Another example is Nintendo. Nintendo of Japan/America/Europe are 3 separate companies under the banner of Nintendo, but they are not one company. When a game gets localized they have to license it out from Japan, and do their own work on it. Hence why US/EU sometimes have different localizations. Good example is Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. 2 completely separate scripts between NA/EU
5. Just as mind blowing as Sonic and Mario in one game, it's not a big deal anymore but it was when Sonic was announced for Smash Bros.
6. Magnificent rivalries means epic battles
7. Since the inception of the genre, no other crossover desires speak louder than this one chronicled as magical, mythical and memorable. It will be better than Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and Street Fighter X Tekken because this is the #1 Most Wanted Video Game Crossover
8. The Light meets the Dark
9. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!
10. No Fatality's for both versions. If Scorpion can be in Injustice without using Fatalities, I'd imagine the Mortal Kombat characters can live without Fatalities if they were to crossover with Street Fighter. Netherrealm have shown that they have no problems toning down the graphic violence e.g MK vs. DC and Injustice
11. Make it so that there is only blood and Fatalities when it's an MK vs. MK character, and just leave it out when an Street Fighter character is involved. This way it's still in the game but doesn't tarnish the Street Fighter image proper
12. Infusing both MK and SF fighting skills, moves into one single fight would really be a good view

Arguments Against:
1. Mortal Kombat just isn't very popular in Japan
2. Capcom doesn't want their properties being violently murdered. They'll do that themselves
3. Without the fatalities, Mortal Kombat would've never been as popular and would be seen as a Street Fighter ripoff
4. Brutality's instead of Fatality's for both versions (Capcom's and Netherrealm Studios's) or just one version or neither? Check out how the new Brutality's are done in MKX -
5. Blood or no blood or little blood
6. No gore or gore or little gore
7. Two different versions of the same game, one version developed by Capcom and another version developed by Netherrealm Studios or a joint-production by Capcom and NetherRealm Studios, they team up to make it?

My summary of comments made by the Co-creator/Executive Producer Ed Boon and Yoshinori Ono:
-Doesn't necessarily match - Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter or Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat?
-It's so hard but it’s easier said than done, it's inevitable because nostalgia interest in it
