MK1-4 Premier Towers

So, what do people think to these?

Judging from what Ed Boon has hinted, it seems we'll perhaps get the MK1 Premier Tower next week. Someone said there are similar Kombat Kards for MK2, 3 and 4 as well, but I don't know how true that is.

The problem with having an MK1 Premier Tower is that we don't have Shang Tsung to fight, and likewise for MK2 we're missing a few 'full' characters (i.e. Baraka) and we don't have Shao Kahn to fight.

Presumably the first secret fights will be added alongside these towers, so we'll finally start seeing people unlock that particular trophy. But do you think we'll start seeing new NPC fighters as well? What about an MK9 old Shang Tsung as the boss, with perhaps a few polished move animations but no variations?

NRS have a lot of possibilities with these living towers, so I'm curious to see what they give us.

I'm thinking that's the most likely scenario what will happen.

As you mentioned, story mode had a regular AI Baraka to fight against with no variations, so I can also see the same thing for old man Shang Tsung in an MK1 Premier Tower.
If they have an MKII Premier Tower, down the road, I can see Baraka, Kintaro and Shao Kahn being there as 3 of the NPC AI fights in that Tower.
If they have an MK3 Premier Tower, down the road, I can see Cyrax, Sektor, Kabal, Smoke, Jade, Nightwolf and maaaaaaaaaaaaybe Sindel being NPC AI fights.

If you check the player cards there will be MK 1 - 4 towers & an mk 9 one at some point, think the backgrounds are there, locked at present obviously as you can't unlock them till tower goes live

I think Shang Tsung will not be in, with Goro being the boss for MK1 tower.
I really wonder how they will do MK2/MK3 thought, Shao Kahn should be in them, but i don't remember him being present in the game in any form, cyborgs is another huge question mark here.
MK4 is fairly easy to do already, maybe we will finally fight Fujin there.
MK9 again need Shao Kahn.
...
And then everyone and their dog will go to twitter and beg Boon for Shao Kahn DLC.

So... why no Armageddon tower xD?

Seriously though, I think they'll re-use the MK9 movesets and just remodel the character.Hopefully we'll see Jarek and Fujin in the MK4 tower...not that I like them as characters, but it just feels right.

I'll continue wishing for an Armageddon tower...

It will be interesting to see how these work. MK 1 and 2 arent that big a deal cause only a couple of characters and bosses are missing but almost half the cast of MK3 isn't in the game.

MK 1 - Shang Tsung

MK 2 - Shang Tsung, Baraka, Kintaro, Shao Khan

UMK3 - Nightwolf, Jade, Sektor, Sindel, Stryker, Cyrax, Smoke, Kabal, Sheeva, Shang Tsung,

MK 4 - Kai, Reiko, Jerek, Fujin, (Baraka and Cyrax if you count MK Gold) Tanya will probably be released by the time they do the MK 4 tower

How do you arrive at 6 MK3 characters who do not have fighting moves/don't even have models (in Cyrax/Sektor/Jade's cases) being fightable, but the one character who does have a model and moves (Sindel) not being fightable?

That's some hilariously backwards stuff. :laugh:

Kabal, Smoke and Nightwolf had models in MKX.
As for the other 3, they can also make generic moves sets like they did with Baraka and Rain in MKX, and the same can be done for Sindel.
That's all that I was implying.
The characters who aren't on the main roster can be on the MK3 Tower, in some sort of non-playable NPC AI form.
No need to be a total dick about it.
