What do you don't like about the game?

I don't know if this thread has been done before.

Anyways. gameplay-wise i have no problem at all with this game, i think it is the most awesome MK so far
and i like the new characters and am happy with the returning mk9 characters.

the things i don't like so far are
1- Ermac's uncovered face and that he is floating. i feel it looks weird and this only fits in injustice in my opinion. i hope this is his alt
2 - quan chi's variations costume details. i mean quan chi is a dark character and yet you see some glowing green and glowing orange i think this takes away a lot from his design.
3 - i don't think am gonna like if jaquie makes it to the main roster. she is boring and generic as hell. i hope she dies in the comic. the same goes for sonya.

1) Kano the human traffic light - As of now, Cutthroat Kano looks to be my main, but he's green. Yuck. Why isn't Kano's traditional red appearance not universal among his variations? They couldn't have come up with a better way to differentiate them? Really? No.

2) Stage interaction - Ugh. Super ugh. I hope you can turn it off.

That's pretty much it, really. I'm more than happy with almost everything about the game.

- Scorpion.
I'm not in denial, I know why he is in the game. I am aware of his popularity, I am aware that he is the face of MK and NRS, I am aware that he is Boon's favourite character... I just wish all these things weren't the case and that Scorpion would be one of the characters never to return to the franchise. I know it'll never happen, but a man can wish.

- Kano.
I don't care about him at all. I don't like his new looks, but it's not just that. I never play as him, I don't care about his story or any reasons for him being in the game, and I'd rather he wasn't so someone I do care about could take his place.

- Sub-Zero's "new" looks.
First of all, it's the palette-swap look. He and Scorpion are the two original ones, so I can accept they are the two still looking like that. But for the first time ever, I actually like Scorpion's costume better than Sub-Zero's. However, if the recent screenshot of him and Ermac truly shows Subbie in his alt of which is Kuai Liang's looks in the comics, that'll be the one I'll be using.

- Ferra.
I actually think Torr looks somewhat cool and he is generally the character you use. But there's nothing about Ferra I like. I'd either completely redesign her or remove her.

- Raiden.
I'd rather have Fujin than Raiden. Raiden has become boring and insignificant to me, and it is not because of the storyline in MK9. I liked him in that game, but after it, I'd rather he became Dark Raiden or that he completely resigned so Fujin could take his place.

- The Variations costume changes.
I'd rather the Variation you use is just shown in the corner someplace, somewhat like the fighting style in MKDA-MKA. That they have to change the looks of the characters seems unnecessary to me.

- The chance of having Johnny or Sonya in MKX.
I hope neither of them returns. And not because Cassie is a mix of them, because I don't see her as such. However, I do see her as a better replacement for both of them. Her overall character catches my interest, something neither of her parents have ever succeeded in doing so. And I'd rather have other characters in the game than those two.

- The Story Mode's chapter build.
I'd rather have it that you chose a character from the roster and then saw the entire story from said character's point of view. And when done with that character, you can choose another and play his/her story.

- Guest characters.
There are only a very few characters from other franchises I'd like to see guest MK, and I doubt either one of them will ever do so. And therefore I'd rather there be none.

- The fact that the collectors editions are focused on Scorpion.
I'm never buying the collectors editions for any games, and this is one of the reasons why.

- The Variations costume changes.
I'd rather the Variation you use is just shown in the corner someplace, somewhat like the fighting style in MKDA-MKA. That they have to change the looks of the characters seems unnecessary to me.
The stupid thing is that there IS an indicator in the top left/right corners. So the appearance changes are completely unnecessary.

I don't mind the costume changes, though. As long as they are small, like Cassie's radio headset or Sub-Zero's grandmaster medallion. It's absolutely ridiculous with Kano, though.

- Guest characters.
There are only a very few characters from other franchises I'd like to see guest MK, and I doubt either one of them will ever do so. And therefore I'd rather there be none.
This too, but I can just choose not to buy them so it doesn't really bother me.

I just can't understand the hate for scorpion. Right he is on every cover and on the art box and he is ed's favorite and he is also mine. But he never was a top tier or he is the hero of the game. He never took any spotlight from any other character

He's on the box art. Both Kollector's Editions are all about him. The promotional material consistently and prominently features him.

How is that not hogging the spotlight?

Am not going against anybody. But lately i have seen a lot of hate for scorpion and i just wanna see where it is coming from

Why? I could tell you every reason why I don't like him. And all you'll do is try and justify every single one of them. Just accept that not everyone agrees with your likes and dislikes. Because it is completely alright that people don't share the same opinions.

If you do want to know, let's do so in another thread where it is the main topic. Leading another thread off-topic is not the way to go.

I can only answer the question from the original post when I play the game. There are things here and there that are questionable, but only when I can play the game will I be able to truly say what I like about it and what I don't.

-Kung Lao is back. I cant stand him anymore.
-Shao Kahn is still being mentioned and I fear he'll still play a role somehow through Ermac.
-Running. Wasnt a big fan of it in MK3.
-Scorpion still has a vandetta with Sub-Zero, it seems.

All of these are just minor and dont affect my hype for this game.

It has been done before. But it was forgotten it seems.

What I don't like about MKX? Boy, a lot...

1) I HATE the marketing. False advertising at its finest + catering purely towards casuals = disrespect.
2) I don't like the Kollector's Editions. 4 of them and ALL are extremely lame.
3) The lack of NEW characters
4) The lack of FEMALE characters
5) Lack of PS2 characters
6) Lack of returning stages
7) Lack of PS3/X360/PC footage

These 7 things above are unacceptable and unforgivable.

Minor stuff I don't like...

8 -Reptile could get better moves.
9 - Reptile could get a slightly better mask.
10) I'd prefer if Reptile was human, but okay.
11) Sub-Zero mask in one of the variations (light blue) looks out of place and dumb.
12) How Ermac hovers.
13) How the characters shine (Quan Chi, etc..)
14) Dead coming back not explained.

There's more, but from the top of my head...

THIS SO MUCH!!! Kano is like my fave new revamp, his combos and moves look brutal. but his Laser variation with the RED is the only one that looks good and will probably be my most used one, even though I probably prefer his Commando variation which has the crappy yellow light.

8 -Reptile could get better moves.

As quoted on the twitter, 'a handful of moves'. I wish people would realize this. We've yet to see all he's capable of. I'm reserving judgment until the next stream. We'll have pretty much all the Reptile info then.

Things I don't like:

Generic Scorpion box art
Scorpion and friends style KE's (they would sell just as well with other characters mark my words)

To early to tell for me in regards to anything else.

Agreed. Same with Ermac I know he have more combo starters that we didn't see. Also returning stages? Pretty sure boon said there won't be any. What I don't like is that the game looks like it'll play like injustice

1.Dead characters coming back

2.Quan chi running like an anime character, also changing his moves - in MK4 his skull was bigger and used to eat the opponent, and the teleport stomp was more brutal.Him glowing is not that good either

3.I don't know because that wasn't confirmed yet, but I will be pretty upset if Shinnok doesn't appear as main boss or playable character. MK4 is my favourite game of all time ,and seing the ending of MK9 made me so happy because I thought the next Mortal Kombat game will tell the story of MK4 ,I will see all my favourites characters, and that dark climate will make a comeback.

4.Only 24 spots and MK9 characters getting revealed.I don't want to play the same characters again,im tired of that

5.Reptile not being human but thats minor

6.Sub-Zero's light blue mask

1.Dead characters coming back

4.Only 24 spots and MK9 characters getting revealed.I don't want to play the same characters again,im tired of that

^^^Pretty much these 2 things, for me.

1. I would have preferred maybe just Sub-Zero & Liu Kang coming back along with the rest of the living MK9 cast, with the other half of the roster being brand new.

4. While I don't think the roster will be 24 (probably 28, IMO), I do agree whole-heartedly with this.
The marketing for the game has sucked major ass (IMO), with nothing being revealed for almost 3 months and then when something finally IS revealed it's the same shit that we saw in MK9.

Other than those 2 things, I'm super excited for MKX.
While I don't give 2 shits for Kung Lao or Kitana, 2 characters on the roster have never prevented me from getting a game in the past, and they won't stop me from getting this game now. :-D
MKX is also not supposed to be the nostalgia game that MK9 was, so I really don't care who is DLC, this time around.
I'll probably get all the DLC, regardless of whether I like the character or not, just to stay competitive with MKX.
I'm going to do my best to get more wins in MKX, and make sure that the Lin Kuei faction gets more points on my behalf. ;)
Interactible stage stuff has been around since MK4, so that doesn't bug me either.
MK4 was very quick-paced and the interactible objects in MK4 kept people on their toes, so I don't see it as a bad thing.

1. The fact that they focus on Scorpion so much. I just don't get the fascination with this boring ass character. There are so many better, more unique characters & I'm just so sick of them shoving him in our face constantly.

2. Ferra/Torr - the concept is cool, and I really like Ferra, but I'm so sick of gigantic grapplers and their unoriginal/boring movesets.

3. Praying to Jesus that Liu Kang stays dead. Kung Lao is almost as bad, but am I the only one that finds him so unoriginal? Wow, an Asian man who uses martial arts, is with the good guys & manipulates fire/dragons. Not like that's been done a million times before.

4. The fact that Cassie Cage bares little to no resemblance to Sonya. Her personality and her moveset both scream Johnny, the only resemblance is the blonde hair. They better compensate this by including Sonya, we DO NOT need Cage.

5. The fact I still have to wait 2 months to get my hands on this game.

6. Lack of female characters

7. Ermac looks like a meth addict & his floating animation looks plain stupid, but I don't care about Ermac anyways.

No Tag Mode or anything along those lines.
EVERYTHING is 1 vs 1 :(

the latest video they preach that "with the next gen technology we can pretty much do anything we imagine"
yet theyre taking a step back not evolving the Tag Kombat. but never mind ive accepted now the fact they decided to go with variations instead

but they could at least put in a mode where you can go 2vs2 3vs3 4vs4
you dont need to be able to tag in and out just have it so once a characters health is gone the next player comes in till all are defeated.

it wouldnt be too hard to add a feature like that.

they had something similar in early MK games so if they can do that in 1995 with MK3 then surly they can do it on Next Gen

for people not interested in single player, story mode or the faction thing then i see it getting boring pretty quick stuck with only 1vs1
