-Kotal Kahn IS SHAO KAHN's SON. The exact translation, as far as I can make it, is 'Kotal Kahn...will prove to be Shao Kahn's son in the story mode'
-Stage fatalities confirmed, natural to MK
-Details on Kotal and D'Vorah's moves
-NRS want to 'seize the moment'
-Details on Raiden's moves
-EVO was a big deal for NRS, determined to be an EVO mainstay
-Ed Boon says: there will be different variations of Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade and Liu Kang. "Is Liu Kang in?" "But of course". So looks like those three are confirmed. "Liu Kang, while not confirmed, is certainly in". Possibility of a mistranslation, either from Boon to German or a flaw in my German but it sounds fairly cut and dry, those three are in and playable
-Boon refused to be drawn on any other characters.
-DLC further confirmed, guest character further confirmed.

I hope Tarkatan throws a tantrum because it's so funny but I think it's legit because

- Gamescom is coming up
- We know that NRS will be there so it's important to them
- It would be audacious for a german magazine to come out before a major german event where the developers of the mentioned game will attend and probably the magazine will be on the stands for people to buy it. My point is someone would take notice
- Ed Boon retweeted the cover yesterday Why would he do that if it is not legit or is full of crap?

And I don't care if half of it is bullshit. I just want the EVO part to be true. If they care about EVO next year that must mean they aim to finish early next year to be able to participate at the tournament.

Oh, yeah, and about Kotal Kahn: has it ever happened that Boon tried to mislead fans to be able to surprise them? Pray for the Kahn's mercy, right?
 
Ed Boon himself confirmed Kotal Kahn has no relation to Shao Kahn directly on Twitter...
Also, why would a Mayan warrior (or Aztec for that matter) be Shao's son?
Maybe the interviewer misinterpreted some stuff.
 
If one thing is false, the others things could be consider false.

- Kotal was confirmed by Boon to have no relation with Shao Kahn.
 
Ehhh, until I hear Boon or Vogel confirm in English that Kotal is related to Kahn, then I'm still thinking it was a mistranslation on their behalf.
 
If 7 characters from MK9 are supposedly in already, that means a lot of the best characters are not going to make it. Sub, Scorp, Lui, Raiden, Kano, Sonya, and Cage. If Boon is sticking to that comment i heard a while back (8 from MK9, 8 from MK4, and 8 new ones). I forgot were i heard that though, than im pissed. What about the best characters, Cyrax, Noob, Reptile, etc. For all things holy, they better find a spot for those 3.
 
Hmm, I am not sure if all of that info is correct/legit. Like Kotal being related to Shao Kahn, 24 characters, and I noticed he also mentioned brutalities(though I think he may have meant fatalities since those are what MK is known for). I definitely think the whole Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Sonya being in the game is true though. Liu Kang died in such a horrible light(Raiden accidentally killing him) and he definitely seems to be that "surprise returning character" that Ed mentioned. Johnny Cage & Sonya, well they were the main survivors of MK9, and since MKX will be picking up where MK9 ended and the fact they had Cassie together, their inclusion is inevitable IMO. Even if they are not playable(though it seems very likely they will be playable) we definitely will see them in Story Mode.

Ermac is semi-confirmed,so that would be 8.I still doubt that both Sonya and Johnny will be in the roster.
 
Someone be a noble MK saviour, and buy the magazine and input all the text into Google Translate.

Anyone else find it kinda funny that a German magazine got an exclusive cover of MK considering the game will likely be banned there?

Plus, I could see NRS wanting to re-imagine the Original 7, now that there are 3 variations and with different intros, which they haven't been able to do before.

I'll gladly give up on Rain (and Rain is 1 of my MK9 mains) to see the original 7 re-imagined, with 3 variations each.
 
Does this mean we'll be getting the same reveal or do we just have to wait until Gamescon to find out?

I'm not sure why NRS is revealing one character at a time now. They usually reveal two, but whatever. Where are the concepts, the renders, character videos? It's like, there really isn't anything out...

I don't know, they did it with MK9 as well, they revealed a lot of character and info in magazines, with no trailers, renders, etc. Back in Deception and Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe, everyone would get at least a render uploaded at the time of the reveal. But those were different times.
