Say YES/NO to MK characters coming back

YES for Shinnok.

Fallen Elder God needs a chance to be a playable god-characters again, to use his godlike powers and medalion to conquer Realms. His revenge for banishment was waiting too long.

With a vote of 24-1... Shinnok gets a YES!

Up next...

SHUJINKO

This was a tough one for me because I really enjoyed his character and I genuinely felt bad for him when I played Deception's Konquest Mode.

However, I'm going to say NO for this game. What I do want to see is something of a Post-Credits Story Mode cutscene where he's about to retrieve the final Kamidogu...

Yes for Shujinko! His story story arc involving the kamidogu and Onaga spans decades and directly overlaps the 25 year timeline MK10 is to set in. There is so much that can be done with his story and specials, variations etc. I see no reason for him not to be included, but given the current circumstances, NRS would most likely waste him his potential.

I would say a very big YES!! to SAREENA & SHUJINKO but a very big big NO!! NO!! NO!! to SHANG TSUNG,SHEEVA & SHINNOK.
Go spam somewhere else! Stay on the current character and ONLY the current character!

And shame on you for wanting MK9's ending to be reduced to a cliffhanger!

Yes for Shujinko.
Id be pretty disappointed if they just dismissed his whole quest without any real explanation.

Plus he could have some pretty cool aged variations.
variation 1 - adult-jinko
variation 2 - middle aged-jinko
Variation 3 - old man-jikno

TO:Tarkatan Trash, shame!! shame!! shame!! on you for trashing spammers, they can spam whatever they want, there is a such thing as FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Its an OF COURSE to Shujinko!Nothing has been altered in his quest as far as we know.Pretending that he never existed would be a deplorable decision from NRS.Playable or not,Shujinko must be in this game.

Of ducking course!!!!!!! BIG YES!!

Shujinko is a key character. Won't write all over again how changes on timeline were between MK1-MK3 events. Also, Onaga's return is a prophecy and bla bla bla .

Since I want Onaga, there is no point to cut him.

Also, there is no point to cut him anyway, Cyber Reptile said everything: pretending he didn't exist is BS.

Ok, he could be back another time? Not at all, 25 years is enough.

And I just want him with his voice actor again.

No.

I don't see the appeal. Like with Liu Kang and Taven, he's just a generic Mary Sue protagonist, personality-wise. His appearance, that of a wise old man, is boring; his gameplay presents him as a copycat. So NRS would need to completely revamp many aspects for me to care about him as a character. He's got a great story, but MKX isn't going to focus on it now, is it?

I would like Shujinko to cameo, but I'd rather he not be playable, unless NRS can surprise me with a revamp that doesn't include shared moves. Also, better his journey be addressed in the alternate timeline, rather than ignored or retconned; something like Raiden killing him to delay Onaga's return would be cool and interesting for Raiden's character.

There is so much that can be done with his story and specials, variations etc.
I'm all ears, if you have the time.

I'm going to vote yes for Shujinko. Since the timeline has changed, I would like to see how his quest will change now. Nightwolf is dead, so he needs someone to cleanse his soul.

Hopefully the way Raiden changed the timeline led to Shujinko tripping over his shoelace with fatal consequences.

Its a no Taj if that wasn't clear...

I'm going to vote yes for Shujinko. Since the timeline has changed, I would like to see how his quest will change now. Nightwolf is dead, so he needs someone to cleanse his soul.

His soul cleansing actually happened before the first Mortal Kombat tournament, when he was on his way to participate, he was stopped by Damashi who asked him to go back to the Netherealm to get back some of the taint. Thus so far, nothing revealed in the story of MK9 has any direct impact on Shujinko's quest, I see no reason for him not to be included again.

Unless they are doing another similar konquest mode or he is the big bad (aka he is the new one being and can use everyone's powers at any time)....NO.

An old post from long ago.

I am sure if the devs put enough thought and time into Shujinko, he could be an outstanding character to play as. The way I see it, I think Shujinko should be a jack of all trades kind of character. He strength comes from the variety of fighting styles and powers he has and utilizes and not being an individual specialist in each. For example since he learnt and absorbed the powers from Sub Zero's ancestors he could be able to create a small ice ball and freeze individual opponents. But his ice summoning powers are much weaker than Sub Zeros, who can form ice spikes and a kori blade.

Thus I feel his moves should be a conjunction of the variety of powers he has got. For example he can have a parry move where his upper part of his hand gets frozen and the opponent freezes on contact. Shujinko then connects with a fiery blackflip kick. Thus it pays tribute to the original characters from whom he learnt these moves (scorpion and sub zero) but using them in his own improvised way. The enhanced version can follow with a teleport punch immediately after the back flip kick. Another move he could have is the whirlwind kick. Though originally Kung Lao's MKDA move, I think it will fit him best which can pay homage to two characters, Bo Rai Cho and Liu Kang (Whirlwind kick= flying kick + bicycle kick). The enhanced move could be a fiery version doing more damage.
Also he could have an anti air where he throws his kunai when the opponent is in the air and smashes them onto the ground.
