Galloping Ghost Arcade Hosts Celebrity Studded MK Event Tomorrow 1/18

Tomorrow at Galloping Ghost Arcade (GGA) in the Chicago suburb of Brookfield, IL there will a fun filled day for Mortal Kombat fans. As usual there will be Mortal Kombat Tournaments but there will also be some Mortal Kombat Celebrity guests.

Throughout the day six of the original actors from the first three Mortal Kombat games will be making an appearance. The actors appearing are Carlos Pesina (Raiden and current Animation Art Lead at NetherRealm Studios), his brother Daniel Pesina (Johnny Cage & MK1-2 Ninjas), John Parrish (Jax), Tony Marquez (Kung Lao), Phillip Ahn M.D. (Shang Tsung in MK2) and Richard Divizio (Kano, Quan Chi, Kabal and Baraka). They will be signing autographs and posing for photos. So be sure to bring your MK collectibles and cameras, there are typically headshots available as well for autographs!

The game tournaments will be held for the original trilogy of Mortal Kombat 1, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate MK3 along with 2011's Mortal Kombat reboot in GGA's custom cabinets. The tournaments will be in a double elimination format and best 2 out of 3, so everyone has a fair chance of winning. There will also be prizes for each of the tournament winners.

The event starts at 1pm Central Time and runs all night. For more details on how to attend the event, be sure to check out the Facebook Event Invite for instructions and further details. Also be sure to like the Galloping Ghost Arcade Facebook Page.

But there is also good news for those who are not in Chicago. The event will be streamed on GGA's Twitch Channel. They said not only will the tournaments be streamed but some of the special guests will be on the stream as well.

Those who happen to attend, we hope to hear from you in our comments on how you felt the event went.

Heh, I guess I'm the only one that attended this?

Well, first off, I highly enjoyed it, although they did not arrive until like 4 PM. Waiting in line, I was screaming like a little schoolgirl and such. I got only three to sign the cover of my Mortal Kombat 2011 game. (I was going to have them sign my art book but I can find the damn thing)

Rich was the most talkative out of the three that I got signed. He gave me advice for some animation stuff as well as gave my boyfriend some acting advice too. I thought he was really sweet.

Parish just told us what he does now, I was going to ask him to flex for me but I got too shy and just posed with him. Jax wins!

Philip... eh... Philip wasn't talking a lot, but he made a joke saying that he wasn't in the 2011's game when I was trying to pose a picture with his autograph being in the pic.

I was going to get Daniel Pesina, but... I started feeling really, really sick. (That's what happens when claustrophobia does to you with a panic attack following straight after).

I was hoping that his brother Carlos would have come sooner, I'm not sure if he ever made it because I left right after I started feeling really sick. There were a few questions I wanted to ask him and that but... Rich basically told me everything I needed so.

This was a really fun day, I just wish Galloping Ghost wasn't a small place, that and I wish it had a cooling lounge or something because all those machines running around plus having over a hundred people in this doesn't make that place comfortable to be in there at all.

    Hi!

Was there from 2pm to 2am covering the event for the site, taking pictures and trying to get interviews (GGA covered those though). Pics up on my facebook, and whatever Pat pics out from the set I gave him will be up soon.

Hope to have RIP's photos and a recap of the event up next week. It's been a busy few weeks of work for me.

I brought some items to get signed. Here's what I got. Carlos Pesina did not show up, but that's ok. I'm still happy with what I got. Just wanted to share!

I also got 2nd place in the MK2 tournament. REALLY stiff competition from a couple guys. I ended up losing to a guy who I think was one of the original testers of the game back in 1993. I could be wrong, but that's what I was told. Didn't feel so bad losing to him after learning that....

(I'm actually P2 at the 10:36 mark. I goofed on that)

And Kano, Kabal, Quan Chi, and Baraka himself was on hand to receive an award for his contribution to video game history...

I rather post what I used for the autographs rather than pictures of me with the actors. (I looked like a goof).

As said above, I left right after I got Phillip's autograph. (I used the booklet of Mortal Kombat for the autographs. I really wanted me artbook)

I really loved the message Rich left me, and I am taking his advice in making it in the big world when it comes to art. I wanted to give him a hug after he told me and my boyfriend what he does now.
