I don't think it's all that bad. Most people who legally download music use an iPod, so this isn't gonna hit Apple too hard.

I think 30% is a bit much, but it seems like Apple owns and maintains all of the servers, networks and software that are used to download through that app, so I can see an amount close to that. Then again, I don't know how much it costs to operate the servers, so 30% may not be that much, either.

It's unfortunate that the journalist that wrote that only tries to defend Apple with "it's an innovative company" bullcrap and other rhetoric. That blurb about Amazon giving $100k to Obama's campaign is just silly. That's friggin' pocket change for both Obama and Amazon. (I wonder whose pockets Apple's hands are in, too.)
