The future of gaming

So.... it appears our friends at Yahoo thought it worthy to do a follow-up article to the one I linked in my original post in this thread. So, here it is:

Kickstarter is nice in the sense that it allows developers to have the freedom to create games without publishers holding them on a short leash. Players can provide direct support by investing in the project. The down side is, there is no telling if the developer will pull through with getting their project on time and or falling short of their promises.

Anyways, I think the bigger problem is the selection of this generation's games as varied or interesting. If developers created better games, there is better chance for consumers to hold on to their game longer before it goes to the second-hand market.
