    Silent Hill: Downpour

Staying true to the franchise's original roots, this eighth installment of the Silent Hill franchise returns with an all new thought-provoking horror storyline. Players will once again find themselves face to face with their deepest sins and fears in the strange world of Silent Hill.

The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and other world terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies. The natural response, fight or flight is left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series, as well as anyone who enjoys a deep, psychological horror experience. In addition to the main storyline, players will also be presented with variable side quests along the way that can change depending on their play style, revealing unknown evils within the town.

    Hells yeah.
    Anyone going to play?

Absolutely loved Silent Hill up to The Room. I think I will just wait this out until it is $20...and a dry season.

    Re: Silent Hill: Downpour

Well I played a few Silent Hill and I really wanted this one.

It got a 7 out of 10 by Game Informer though. My friend [a huge SH fan] said the combat system sucks ass.

So I'm going to wait until it lowers.

Mario Party and Silent Hill are pretty much the same game anyway.

Watched a couple video reviews and they all just complain about the combat, but since was combat that great in SH? Maybe Downpour does not bring the franchise back to prominence, but maybe I should not be jaded by reviews. But so many other great games on a higher level are coming out.

    Re: Silent Hill: Downpour

Being a huge RE fan, it's practically my duty to hate Silent Hill games, but I am a shame to the RE franchise and actually like a few of the SH games.

I would pick it up, if Operation: Raccoon City wasn't coming out Tuesday and taking over my life.

    Re: Silent Hill: Downpour

There was something about when the original came out that had a spookier edge over RE for me. That atmosphere was to get lost in.

    Re: Silent Hill: Downpour

I've honestly never played a SH game(besides the demo to the first game ages ago). I am interested in this one. Maybe I'll play it eventually. I also want to get the revisioned original for the wii.

If it's a horror, I AIN'T PLAYIN'. I love games like this but I never have the guts to play them. I always YT a play-through and take it from there.

    Re: Silent Hill: Downpour

I was going to get this and the HD Collection, but both have received a bunch of negative reviews. Too bad, I really wanted to play SH2 in hd. Book Of Memories also looks quite awful. WTF is wrong with Konami?
