Gamers can get ready to return to the Animus, as Ubisoft today announced Assassin's Creed 3 will launch on October 30.

We know when AC3 will come out, but not when it will be set.
As reported by Kotaku, the news came from a Ubisoft investor conference call in which CEO Yves Guillemot predicted it would be "the biggest launch in Ubisoft history." The news confirms at least part of a purportedly leaked Ubisoft release schedule that surfaced this week, with Assassin's Creed 3 listed as a 2012 launch.

With Ezio's story wrapping up in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the third installment in the series will shift its focus to a different protagonist.

Apparently, AC3 has been under development for the past 3 years. I hope this is true because ACB and ACR were too short.

Edit: I hope this game is 40% Desmond and 60% new assassin. I hope the new assassin isn't set in the American Revolution because back then, there weren't any major building for an assassin to climb. I wouldn't mind if it was set in England or anywhere in Europe.

Double Edit: My birthday is on Oct. 29, so this will be a great happy late-ish birthday present for myself.

No, it's a leaked photo. It's actually a picture of a pre-order stand up from a best buy that some employee took. The game isn't supposed to be officially announced til March 5th, so it makes sense that these are being shipped to the stores just in time for the announcement. It's a rumor, yes, but I sincerely doubt this is a fake.

Hmm well, if this is real judging by this picture he will be using a mix between Colonial and Native American weaponry. It certainly seems it will be different from past Assassin's Creed games.

I hate Assassin's creed. Always found it boring.

BUT since I LOVE American history [best history ever], Assassin's Creed 3 is something worth looking in to if it takes place during the American Revolution.
