Nash is winding people up. The mans a genius. I kind of agree with him, but i dont think you need to be a huge monster to be over.
I do agree wrestling characters need to be larger than life. I really think the smaller guys should be on the mid card, been workhorses and providing quality, athletic wrestling matches, while the main eventers should be larger than life characters, relying on the feud and storytelling to carry the match, ala Taker vs HHH at Mania this year.
Im a big fan of Punk and Bryan but to be honest they dont add to the escapism that wrestling had over the years. They look like people who you may hang around with or see in the pub. They are bland. Punk didnt used to be, but he has gotten stale, quickly. Bryans getting somthing about him.
There a definately exceptions to the rules mind, lots of smaller wrestlers have been excelllent and had character.
When i think of wrestling i think of larger than life characters, doing the impossible with good storylines, not adults still suffering from teenage angst problems of male models doing acrobatics.
Total disrespect from someone who could barely walked in the ring without breaking his own legs. His reign as WWF champion brought nothing positive to the industry.
To be honest Chris Benoits title reign and choices have done alot worse for the wrestling industry than Diesels title reign and choices.
Again I think hes stirring the pot. Its a known fact that alot of old school wrestlers having nothing but distain for the IWC, picking on the IWC current underdog heroes is just a ticking time bomb, which has gone off.
