I am against gay marriage. Marriage is defined as being between two people of the opposite sex.
Okay I'm not really against gay marriage but somebody had to disagree just to do it right?

He was talking about a school debate he had.
I just remembered one of the other arguments people like to make against gay marriage: "if you let a man marry another man, then you'll have to let a man marry a turtle or a tree." Since when are trees and turtles legally consenting parties?
The funny thing is, that's probably the most rational argument there is against gay marriage.
No, I wasn't referring to you. BBLP asked what the argument in the debate I mentioned was, and that's what I was responding to.
Hunger is the best sauce.

I really don't get why people worry about who marries who, especially when it is someone you don't even know. I mean, really, the fact that some people in this world have nothing better to do than protest things that have NOTHING to do with them personally is sad....
Happiness is what is important and if two people love each other and are happy, there is absolutely no reason why they can't get married.
In the end, it has nothing to do with you, so why bother? It's mostly just because of religious beliefs or just simply because straight people don't want to see two men or women (well, besides men) kissing.
So this leads me to my next question: Why is two hot chicks kissing 'hot' while two good looking men making out 'gross'? Usually when asked, people say of the two men 'because it is just wrong', but why would it be okay for two girls to do it? That is just a double standard....
Everyone is entitled to be happy regardless of race, sexual preference, etc.
I think thats legit gross.
Like just naturally nasty
Reminds me of when I watched Wanda Sykes' stand up.
She said "Its every guys fantasy for him to come home and see his wife with another lady. I don't get that. I don't want to come home and see my husband bent over in front of the fireplace with Bubba asking him "Who's yo daddy?!""
But then I think its just preference.
Most people prefer not to see two guys kissing.
Not that its wrong, its just gross.
Like ketchup on eggs.
Think tarantulas.
Tarantulas (for the most part) are naturally offensive to the human eye.
Which is why arachnophobia is very common.
Now I doubt the same analogy can be used for homophobia, but its a start.

I believe that seeing 2 guys kissing is not considered acceptable because from birth we have been subliminally programmed as to what is visually and viscerally acceptable. Every song you hear, every t.v. show you watch, every new report, most every book you read, have all played a part as to what is acceptable. Hell, even myself as a gay man find it visually awkward, during the first minute, to see two men holding hands in public. My brain has to take an extra second to process exactly what I am seeing because it is not of the normal sights commonly seen every day. As far as why hetero guys find 2 girls making out sexually attractive I think it is, quite simply, they have boobs. They are women. Women are attractive to men. Be it 1, 2, or 15 girls making out, it would be considered hot by most hetero guys. Just my pennies.

Then again, she finally came out as being gay, so maybe that's why she doesn't wanna see two guys porking each other.
The only reason I have for thinking it's gross to see two guys going at is that I'm not attracted to them. Why society has that stigma surrounding it, who knows. It's also more of an insult for a man to be called gay than it is for a woman to be called a lesbian.
Yes, but why would a straight guy want to see two guys kiss? Seeing two females kiss is great because all we see is the female form. There's no masculine form there to encroach on our piece of ass.
If women were more visual, then they might enjoy seeing two dudes make-out (or worse >.<). I've seen where females supposed get grossed out by dudes kissing each other, but that's pretty ridiculous.

For me personally, I don't really mind the whole chick on chick thing, though I don't swing that way (but very often joke about it, lol), but even for me, guy on guy is not appealing....I think part of it has to do with women in general being more beautiful to look at (meaning the female body is more attractive to look at than the male body).
Of course, it is automatically gross when two butch chicks start going at it. *shudder*
EDIT: Responded during you posting, Eks, hope my post answers your question, at least a bit! Looks like we have just about the same opinion.
I am for gay marriage, but against them adopting children, but that's just my opinion.
Hi Mistah J! Did you miss me Puddin'? - Harley Quinn
hahahaha I 100% completely agree with this, the female body IS more attractive then a male to most people (even girls), so far I've kissed 3 guys (split second) so that other girls would make out/mess around/get naked or whatever and no offense to anyone but I would rather watch 2 guys go down on each other then make out cuz the kissing stuff just gets me like I can't even do it for a split second(I get shit for saying this all the time), guys just aren't beautiful like girls, neither one is wrong, it just depends on your sexual preference
now as for the gay marriage part...if I was really gay and loved a guy so much that I wanted to marry him and shout it from the rooftops, I would be so upset/hurt/pissed if I knew I would never get to one day, n that's what makes me down to fight for gays
By the way there's only 2 movie/tv episodes that make me cry everytime...
Scrubs 3 part episode with Brenden Frazier
and Milk
Idk if I liked milk so much cuz I just wanna bang James Franco or because it was one of the saddest, most touching, eye-opening movies I've ever seen, I definately recommend it to anyone gay or straight

By that logic he should hate straight people too because women get raped by men (and vice versa) on a daily basis. I know it didn't happen to anyone he knows and/or loves, but it definitely could.
Maybe he should focus on not liking rapists, no matter what gender or sexual preference they have.
And you're completely entitled to your opinion, of course. I do want to know why you think they shouldn't be able to adopt children? There is no logical argument I can think of that should prevent gay couples from having kids. These kids all grow up living normal, happy lives in most cases, just like with straight couples. In fact, I recall reading somewhere that most of these kids will be less judgmental and generally more accepting of other people and their situations.
Use the multi-quote button, please! Thanks =)

You could lump this issue in with the religion topic as it's religion at the heart of the issue here...............yet again.
1. Being gay is not a choice - thanks to science we have identified the gay gene and proven that you can have a gay disposition without choice.
2. As long as "marriage" offers tax, health, and financial benefits in a nation it should be open to ALL couples equally.
Next..........
Im a christian.I could care less about gay ppl spending the rest of their lives together. The state can let the ppl marry but they should keep God out of it.Im not saying that God hates gays either.I dont think its my responsibility to tell people where its okay to put their wankers and vages.I never met a gay guy that was a jerk and i would rather chill with a gay dude and his girls rather than a straight guy and his group of....uhh more straight guys.
