Trolling You For Fun & Profit
Ok Guys, I'm curious to hear about your first MK experiences.
It could be anything.
Your first ever fatality, babality, Friendship..
Maybe you pulled off a brutatlity by accident??
Maybe you wanna say what you first Mortal Kombat game was?
Or maybe you wanna tell everyone your first mountain dew fueled midnight playthrough on the master ladder on expert setting?
Everyone welcome to this thread, and I'm most curious of the Moderator's 1st experiences.

I'll go ahead and start.
The year was 1997, and I was about 5 or 6.
My dad brought home a game called Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
That's the game that brought me into the series and I have been a fan ever since.
Just thinking about MKT Noob Saibot makes me nostalgia hard.
Anyways, tell your stories guys!

I was introduced to MK at a very young age. I received my Sega Genesis along with MKII at the age of 3 or 4. I played the hell out of that game. Fast forward a couple years to when MK Trilogy came out on PS1. My cousins and I went to go buy it the first day it was released. We played for hours on end. This was the first game I could keep up with my cousins in. It changed gaming for me, because for years my cousins were like Gods to me when it came to gaming. During this time is also when MKII and MK4 cabinets were introduced at Castle Park (a small mini golf/arcade in my area). Can't tell you how many quarters I spent on both.

Haha, yeah I heard that man. I put away some DOLLARS in the old MK4 arcade machine. Had to step in line and put the quarter up lol.

Hate to break it to you TaBB, but this thread is going to get merged... I've seen this before

As for me, my first MK experience was arcade MKI, and I was about 12. You young'uns...

I first played MK4 back in 1997, before that I was not even into video games but MK got me playing!! After that I played MK2 at a friend on SNES, it didnt have the combos but still felt good. I decided to buy a Genesis (cheaper than a PS or SNES at the time) with MK2 because I wanted to get better at it. My friend was beating me at MK2 without even looking at the screen (literally) and that pissed me off (lol)...

Having the console I thought that I might as well just get all MKs for genesis, so I bought MK1 and UMK3 (never owned MK3) I played the hell outta UMK3 because it was fast and very competitive, It became my favorite MK until MK Trilogy came out! I had a bit more money so I bought a PS with MKT (I love the booklet that comes with it!)...

I bought an XBOX later on just because MK DA came out, it was a drastic change but it was welcomed I just hated that jumping forward was useless and there was no uppercuts...MK DECEPTION added what was missing in DA for me so I was so happy! I never owned MK A because it never came out for the XBOX in Europe but played enough at friend and thought it was a rubbish game (stupid air combat)...

I bought a PS3 to be able to play GoW (I was so jealous of my friend when I had an Xbox and wanted to own God of war) and wait for the Next MK that rumored to be "dark and gritty" but turned too kiddish (MK vs DC)..

MK9 is all I need in an MK and I play it almost exclusively since it came out. I buy Console because of MK and play other games just so that I can waste time while waiting for the next MK...

My 1st mk experience was with mk1, I was 4, I picked Jon c and spammed uppercuts on my friends. I didn't win much, lol.
My 1st fatality was with scorpion. I pressed L+R+Down on Nintendo and to my surprise he pulls off his face and from his skull, spews flames over his opponent.

Fond memories

That was my first fatality too, but I'd love to know how you pulled it off that way

I figured something a merge would happen cowboy; however, I searched and did not find an existing thread similar to this one.
If it merges, it merges.
No big deal.

I was 11 years old when I was introduced to MK1....at a ski resort in Wisconsin, it was louder than any game in the arcade. I remember watching the older kids pulling off fatalities and just being in AWWWW! I've been hooked ever since then! :)

Got Trilogy when I was in the 4th grade. I used to sit there and learn the brutalities and write them down.

But my first was MK1 on the Genesis and I accidentally did Kano's fatality (the blood code wasn't on btw..)

I don't even remember how old I was.

I just remember being sat down infront of a tv, someone putting MK3 in the SNES.
And giving me a sandwich.

Addicted ever since.

Never performed a fatality though, till MK4.
Then me and Scorpion ****ed cats up left to right.

MK Trilogy saw my first accidental fatality.
Smoke's force fed bomb, nearly shit my pants when I saw my button mashing accomplishment.

I think we have this thread somewhere already, because I recall telling my story where I slammed into an MK machine while on rollerblades.

I didn't get into MK until I was in middle school, but my very first MK experience was playing MKT at my buddy's house right after I got it.

I picked Motaro. Why? Because he was a big ****ing horse and looked like he'd win

My first mk experience was with MK3 on megadrive dont know the year but it was before school so i was less than 6, first character i picked was sub zero cause my brother told me he could freeze and than we could upercut them.

sorry bad english

first time i heard of mk was mktrilogy, my uncle had that game and i always was there watching, then it came mk4 and my uncle bought it too and it was in that time that i started to play, i sucked a lot but it was fun. but with deadly alliance came i dont know i didnt like that new things that they added so i poped up mkt and i started playing that one instead (i tried the other ps2 console games but i didnt like them much). Then i forgot about mk till mk9, i love that game and im going to buy it when i got my ps3 (right now i can only play mk9 in a friends house) to revive the old times of trilogy

my first fatality was with scorpion in mk4

My first Fatality was Sub-zero's.
MY first Brutality was on my birthday.
I beat my first graphical ending on MK4.
I beat my first Konquest mode on MKD.
Then I had my first tag team mode on MKSM.
Now I have another cool MK game to my collection :)

My first exposure to MK came around the "Mortal Monday" timeframe when MK1 was released for home consoles, so I would have been 7-ish. I was fascinated by the realistic digital characters and the gruesome but mysterious finishers you could do to your opponent. Rented MK1 for Genesis at least a half dozen times. One day I was playing as Sub-Zero against my brother, who was 12 or so, and when it came time to finish him, I tried to do an uppercut, but instead I tore his head off! We were both shocked and wanted more!

Before MK2 hit the arcades, I had a good friend at school whose older brother had a bunch of game magazines, and he gave us this 20-page special on MK2 that showed every character's bio, special moves, finishing moves, and arcade endings. We would pore over those pages and images for days on end, usually drawing to reproduce the awesomeness that we were taking in.

A couple years later, when my older bro was in high school and started working, he got me MK3 for Christmas one year, and we played the absolute crap out of it. I haven't touched MK3 in years, but I can still remember combos, special moves, and finishers for almost everyone on the roster.

At some point I've owned MK1, 2, and 3 for Genesis, MK4 for N64, Armageddon for PS2, MK vs DC for 360, and now MK9 for 360. I personally never owned MKDA or MKD, but my roommate in college owned them. I never really did play MKDA very much.
