I love horror movies!
Sadly, there are only about four which I consider actually scary (Exorcist, Ring, Ju-On, Blair Witch).

But the OP didn't ask for scariest, but favorite.

So! Here are my favorites (in alphabetical order):

  • 28 Days Later
  • Alien (I absolutely love Aliens, but this one is pure action to me, not horror)
  • The Beyond (by Lucio Fulci)
  • The Blair Witch Project
  • Dawn of the Dead (both original and remake)
  • The Descent
  • Event Horizon
  • From Beyond (by Stuart Gordon)
  • Hellraiser
  • Hellbound - Hellraiser 2
  • Ju-On
  • Let the Right One In
  • Night of the Living Dead (original)
  • The Ring
  • The Shining
  • Zombie (aka Zombi 2; by Lucio Fulci) -- best looking Zombies to this day

From the Saw, Hostel type of movies, I think Wolf Creek is the best, but I cannot say that it is one of my favorites.

Can't believe I forgot 28 Days and The Shining  I also like 28 Weeks too.

I have never seen Event Horizon. I've been meaning to see it for years and have never gotten around to it. I think alot of it has to do with the fact I despise Paul WS Anderson for butchering the Resident Evil movies.

I also agree Lucio Fulci's Zombie had the best looking zombies. Something really eerie about how they rise up from their shallow graves in that film and of course the legendary zombie vs. shark scene.

The Hills have Eyes scared the ever living Goddamn shit out of me.
The Amittyville Horror had me scared for weeks. (It's scary as F*ck that shit actually happened)
The Children underneath the Stairs f*cked me up for days.
I don't care too much for Scary Movies but I seem to watch them every now and then.
